In this video we have 1 goal. More horsepower. How far can we push the 1.8T GTI engine in my cheap VW Fox to make this car the king of all GTI's? Throughout this video we install a load of modifications to the car such as a new turbo amongst other mods and later we take the car for a remap to try to achieve this goal. But how much horsepower will our £700 VW Fox (which came out of the factory with 73bhp) make?

You should race the lads from TDC in their hot hatches, it'd make for some sick crossover content for you both.

It’s a shame you didn’t clean and paint the engine, especially after all that work and new parts 🥲 good job though, enjoying this series

Now we need a forged 1.8T rebuild for a Polo GTI track car, seems like a perfect plan for a next build series

Tbh, i think some little aero tweaks (little boot lip, front lip and rocker panels) like a small GTI package woud be perfect cherry on that purple muffin cake. But those changes need to be subtle, not to rice it

This kid’s criminally underrated and under-followed at the moment but have no doubt he’ll blow up soon.. such good and thorough builds compared to a lot of YouTubers taking in to account his budget and experience 👏🏼

very enjoyable content, first time viewer here. one mention so far. 20:15 don't use vaseline on rubber seals, unless it says specifically that is rubber friendly. hydrocarbons will damage rubber and quite quickly, maybe a couple of months. there are special rubber lubricants for the job. this is not a heckle, just a (hopefully) useful advice.

I think I nearly shed a tear when you put that beautiful new mount on that beautiful new paint and still used the rusty old bolts to mount them?

Plus, maybe some aero kit for it could bring more of a proper GTI look to it ;)

You know what would make the engine look a lot nicer?
CLEANING..!!

You need to change the spring they come with 3 different coloured springs

I have a 2009 vw fox black, my first car, seeing this just makes me wish i had the money and skills to do this, very impressive man looks great 🔥

The forge dv has interchangeable springs for different boost rates maybe you just need to up a size ?

@seanaldo9187 1 year ago

as soon as the misfire started on run 2 and the dyno guy said its boost related i immediately said in my head "N75"

i've not owned a 20VT engined car for a while........ but you never forget the issues you encounter over the years. i had a few N75 related issues when i had my mk1 Leon Cupra R.

You will struggle to get much more than your 285bhp (might just about nudge the 300 mark) without changing the OEM exhaust manifold. the stock cast manifold is quite restrictive. You can do some port and polish work for a tiny bit more flow, but ideally you need to replaced it with a bigger aftermarket one.

loving the content on this......... i am a bit of a VAG geek, especially when it comes to either 20VT or PD130/150 engine

Here in Brazil, there is a Fox with a VR6 engine, rear-wheel drive, a mid-engine layout, and 300 horsepower.

Love this content. I’ve always wondered what an oem performance variant of some cars would be like. I’ve always wondered about a Ford KA RS or ST. They share the same platform as the Fiat 500 and therefore a 595 abarth. So theoretically an ST/RS KA is feasible!
