How does this channel not have 100k ?

I think Nosferatu is still an important film in terms of both horror, vampire, and film making. Fun Fact: When I went to a screening of the film on its celebration of being 100 years old, I was surprised the showing was full of people. Not just older folks but even younger folks because normally with older films especially silent films, it's harder to get newer folks into more slow pace film styles then the more modern fast pace style. Or that Spongebob had a hand to that.

"Whose been flickering the lights?"

"LAYTON EVERSAUL!"

Instant click. Hoping you'll do Frankenstein in the future.

I was so disappointed that Robert Eggers didn't include a shot of his Orlock carrying around his coffin. That's always been one of my favorite images from Nosferatu

Your uploads are like an oasis in a desert… please don’t stop!

I would love to visit these beautiful locations. They even shot some of the scenes in “Shadow of the Vampire” at the same spots that Muranu did in 1922; such as the castle where Hutter meets Orlock (including one of the castle exteriors when Dafoe’s Schreck delivers a monologue on Dracula in the book) & during the montage where Malkovich’s Murnau monologues using actual words from the director on his craft

I found out about Nosferatu through Spongebob. I remember it scared me so much as a kid, so I wanted to find out what the hell that image was. I'd never even considered watching a silent film before, but I just had to watch this one, and I'm so glad I did. One of my favorite horror movies period.

My grand father was able to watch this movie growing up, theb he shared it with my father, and my father ended up sharing it with me. And I now have seen both remakes. I have high respect for the background and influence this move has brought to the film industry and horror in all medias of expression

Could you please make "Story of" documentaries on Hammer Films' original Dracula movie, known in the USA as "The Horror of Dracula," given its landmark status in the history of modern vampire movies, and on Buffy The Vampire Slayer? With the latter, the story of the original feature film deserves telling, then, that of the sensational TV series, which those of us who grew-up with it during the 90's will never forget. Sarah Michelle Gellar's battle to get the part of Buffy Summers, which, as a dark-haired New Yorker, she nearly failed to do and almost ended up as Cordelia Chase instead, is only part of a story well-worth telling. Please could you consider it?

An almost unknown fact is that Gustav von Wangenheim's father Eduard von Winterstein is in the film, too. He played the inkeeper in the scenes inside the Transsilvanian pub. The same role in the scenes outside the pub was played by a different actor.

Interestingly, Klaus Kinski (who played
Dracula in "Nosferatu the Vampyre")
previously starred as Renfield in
Jesús Franco's "Bram Stoker's COUNT
DRACULA" (1970) with the legendary
Sir Christopher Lee as Dracula (who
had famously played the title role for
Hammer Films), and it is the first film
in Dracula's cinematic filmography
that featured him as an old man (with a
mustache, much like in Bram Stoker's
novel) before he turns himself younger.

in July 2015, F.W. Murnau's grave in Stahnsdorf cemetery outside Berlin was desecrated and his skull stolen. After passing away in a road traffic accident  in America in 1931, aged 42, his body was transferred to the burial site in Germany the following year. His grave had previously been targeted in the 1970's, so cemetery wardens were aware of interest in his well-preserved body in mausoleum 22, alongside his brothers Bernhard and Robert Plumpe. The mausoleum is popular with fans of his work coming to pay their respects.

I would love if you did a video on Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

Your videos are better than the actual bonus features they put on official releases ❤

Do you know how you can tell a channel is good? When you feel that you have a fair deal of knowledge on a subject/movie, yet watch the videos anyways. This channel does that to me every time. Without fail I end up learning even more. It’s as if the movies selected are curated to me. I love these videos. Always well researched and well presented.

Do a video of the Making The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) next

Very good retrospective with only one tiny omission regarding the musical category: in 2024 famed music composer Christopher Young did a whole new score for the original 1922 film, recorded by the Tonhalle- Orchester of Zürich. The album is now available.

Absolutely amazing, mate.
This is one of my favourite YouTube channels hands down.

I remember watching this on a VHS tape my mom had in her horror collection. It's very creepy and well made. The way Orlek looked and moved was awesome. It was definitely the first Mockbuster.
