The Episode where Bart emancipates himself and lives on his own wasn't childish.
It was reasonable. It was not only about Homer using Bart for making money and spending without his knowledge but also the fact that Homer was always a lousy father to Bart. He always strangled him whenever he is angry and always favoured Lisa more.
I mean forget treating Bart like his son, he didn't even treat him like a person.
