The US forces used a big variety of half tracks during WWII in many roles: personnel carrier, self propelled artillery, anti air, etc.
The total number produced of these vehicles was betwen 70-80.000 in total.

I drive my m15a1 halftrack around town frequently. They are noisy in the cab, but not too loud outside. They like 30-35 mph, but I hit 50 mph once. 147 horsepower, 400 fp torque. 3.4 mpg. 4 speed manual with high / range and powered front wheels. You can get some parts (coil, points, rotor, master cylinder, plugs) 11:08 at NAPA, but everything else requires hunting.

In the 1970s one of my friends purchased a halftrack from a scrap yard I buffalo new york,I lost track or that person but I do know he did purchase a Dwk the same year

12:47 I worked with the Argentine Army in the late 90’s and I believe early ’00’s and was surprised to them still trucking along in good old fashioned “half tracks.” The IDF handed off the APC role to M113’s, however, communications, engineering and a few other niche sectors were still “tracking along” until ‘88ish.
