🎭 Plot Focus: Lu Hengsheng, a Taiwanese lawyer living in the US, travels to mainland China to find his father, Lu Haitao, who has left home in Kaohsiung. Lu's father is a veteran who went to Taiwan with the army, and this trip carries a trust spanning half a century. In a neighboring city, Zhang Fengzhen's family welcomes the return of her "husband, He Mingjun," a source of joy for the whole family. However, various oddities conceal a mystery. Lu Hengsheng discovers that this returning veteran is none other than his own father. It turns out that Lu Haitao, entrusted by his dying superior, He Mingjun, has brought his comrade's ashes back to his hometown. Not wanting to shatter Zhang Fengzhen's lifelong longing, he has chosen to play along, impersonating the deceased. The generational gap slowly melted away, and a well-intentioned lie carried the bond and homesickness of veterans from both sides of the strait.
