Soundwise probably their best album. And thank god no live drums, no 'rock' sound. Gareth Jones (producer) and Alan (Philip Glass influence ) made everything so much more interesting and exciting.

STILL my favorite DM album! My introduction to Depeche Mode as a kid in '85 or '86; my mom had a cassette of Some Great Reward. Every track is a classic!

My favourite album and documentary! And a bit of recognition deserved for Alan Wilder for being the one who video recorded the making of the album. As if he didn't do enough in the studio, he was also documenting the process on video and was responsible for some really well composed footage.

People are People is the first song of DM that I heard. It's still one of my all time favorites. I used to have this album on cassette tape. Thank you.

Poor Alan doing all the work after the other guys went on holiday. He was the back bone of Depeche Mode.

By the time I was living in Deutschland and I meet them in a concert in Frankfurt.. I was 15 years old but in the 80s we looked a quite older of our age.. were chasing them as normal fans but Alan and somebody else (don’t recall his name at the moment) came outside for some pictures … I got enchanted by Alan’s kindly approach and his words to us and also my autograph.. got smitten babe … (and forever ♾️) my 1st husband is just like him 😉

Master and Servant got me into DM

Blasphemous Rumours and Lie to Me have held up really well thirty years later. The album as a whole, to me, was more a warmup for Black Celebration than anything else. It's a pretty cool snapshot of a moment in time though.

Iggy, Bowie...all roads artistically seem to lead to Berlin. Hansa Studios. I had no idea that Nue influenced them on this record an vice versa due to having the same producer. Wow!!
