Excellent build. I'm 70 years old and still learning. I have plenty of time to do this now days and parts of your weathering methods are new to me. Nicely done!

I was a Helicopter Engineer in the Royal Navy and spent two years on 814 Squadron from 85-87 when we had XV666 or Damien. It was light grey in colour and I spent numerous hours working on it and flying in it although I wasn’t the plane captain. The main mechanic or plane captain’s names were printed just below the pilot and co pilots windows. I think it’s number was squadron number was 274 and nobody liked flying in it. The aircraft was covered in PX24 to protect it against corrosion and it was called a cab wipe and everyone hated doing it. The main dirt look came from the exhaust and hydraulic oil. We used cloth type sacks that filled over the rotor blades with ropes that were secured to the helicopter when in the folded position and a gust lost to secure the tail rotor blades.

Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.

Having worked on Seakings in the past, this build brought back a lot of memories. The tail number of this MKV gave the aircraft the nickname Damien, and is still flying today.
