You guys are the best !!! You don't interrupt the song .

There’s a video where Jack Black begged Led Zeppelin to use Immigrant Song for the movie School of Rock. (They didn’t normally give permission, but they thought Jacks plea was funny so they said yes.) Then when Led Zeppelin received the Kennedy Center Honor, Jack Black spoke about the band. That’s worth a watch too.

It's about the Vikings invasions, a looooooooong time ago.

There is Led Zeppelin,  then everyone else. 😊

Gentlemen please accept that you won’t find a better band. Listen to every album from beginning to end

In Thor Ragnarok, the scene at the bridge, they rocked the Immigrant Song. A great battle song.

Hammer of the Gods ❤

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a great band. They were the heart of Southern rock. I really like them. People have passionate opinions about their favorite artists, BUT Led Zeppelin are their own genre. Not fair to compare them to other bands. A lot of great music out there, but Zeppelin are one in a million. We can enjoy music of all kinds without making it a competition.

Now you gotta do the B-Side "Hey, Hey, What Can I Do"

LZ wrote the song after doing a concert in Iceland..  It was a tribute to the vikings immigrating to Ice land.  Im glad ou  played the studio version.  Its a much cleaner recording then the live.

While doing gigs in Iceland, Plant was inspired to write a song with about Viking invasions.  So yes, tribal, war drums, driving rhythm, and lyrics of conquest.

The song is about the Vikings ("Come from the land of the ice and snow / From the midnight Sun where the hot springs blow") raiding, invading and conquering England.  Later it became the unofficial theme song of the Minnesota Vikings NFL team.

Correct 💯 it's actually a Viking war cry .

They got a beating from the media over this album....ironically  it has the absolute best rock/blues anthem of all time...."since I've been loving you"....there is absolutely no comparison to these bands....southern rock is southern rock....skyward is an American band....they were in competition for the best song....free bird and stairway to heaven,  free bird just couldn't compete with stairway....7

Led Zeppelin's music is all different,,they do have a sound that you can recognize one of their songs but the styles are going to be unique it will keep you guessing what's next!

You did well choosing the studio version of this masterpiece

Robert wrote this not intending to record it but they realized he had a hit so they performed it live often as their opener. Zeppelin was a touring band and had no openers. Played for 3-4 hours. Played multiple times in each city and always sold out

I Love, love, love Zeppelin, but every time I listen, I'm blown away again by Robert Plant's voice, range and breath control. Outstanding - like the rest of the band.

Urban mind people trying to figure out the lyrics , but I love people listening to the lyrics and watching it and understanding instantly

Led Zeppelin did everything from folk rock to blues rock to classic rock to progressive rock. And even outside those genres. Each of the band members was a musical genius in their own right, and together made a ton of magic. Also... Lynyrd Skynyrd were great, but no way are they in the same class as Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.
