Sorry I forgot to include the link to the builds: https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterMeta/comments/1jkaxo7/mhwilds_endgame_meta_builds_compilation/
I think I was using the ReyG Dahaad: Earplugs 2 set. Though it's been a while since I recreated the load out in my game. Also I didn't worry about getting ideal ration roles. Unless you're speed running or challenging yourself for the best time, I'm not convinced it's worth spending ages fighting RNG.

I started gunlance last week from bow, and I found every other guide so clunky and confusing. Folks on reddit just talk in riddles and don't discuss the routes. This guide is amazing and will definitely give me a better grasp on my options. Amazing work 👏 👏👏

I was disappointed to learn that you won't be covering the bowguns, but I did want to say that your guides are some of the best I've ever seen on youtube, and I probably would have never tried a couple weapons if it weren't for your instruction. I got so many extra hours of enjoyment from learning weapons I've never touched in MH, so thank  you for that! Great work!

Several things not mentioned but important for advanced FUNlance play (Level 4?)

Shell Hopping
After any attack where you could shell afterwards (including shelling), holding a direction while shelling will move you in that direction while shelling. You can do this for as long as you have a shell in the cylinder.

Moving Wide Sweep
Mentioned in the video but missed out on the fact that holding left or right (especially in Focus Mode) will cause you to strafe in that direction too. Great for repositioning.

Shell Cancelling
During a lunging upthrust or rising slash, you can actually press shelling before the attack comes out. Use shell hops during the run up animation of lunging upthrust to greatly extend the distance covered (or change directions on a dime). This technique works with charged shelling too, useful if you need to get a little closer to make sure your full salvo lands.

Drake Auger
There's actually 2 variations: standing and lunging. Focus strike without a direction will root you in place but make it very aimable. You can turn more freely and aim at a Wound. The lunging version makes you run up quite a bit but you're locked into a direction. Use either depending on the situation.

As a Gunlance main, this is one of the best guides explaining the weapon I've seen so far.

Here I was thinking charge blade was complicated. This is coming from a veteran cb main for years that wanted to try something new yet also similar. Great informative video here!

Thankyou Western Man, your videos helped me wrap up some loose threads in my brain around some weapon's combo strings. The flow charts are easy to comprehend and your voice is very clear and easy to hear. I'm looking forward to your next videos. :face-red-heart-shape:

Really great vid series 👍

this was gold thank you

You are bang on that your guides relay complicated (and if we are being real here with GL routes, convoluted) information in an extremely clear and digestible way. As someone who's job is communicating complex, but much more boring information to everyday people, I can really appreciate how much thought goes into delivering complicated info in a simple way.

Seriously, you do such a great job! I hope you are really proud of this series!!!

I've subscribed and am excited to see where you go next. Absolutely behind you in wanting to pursue your interests rather than riding the algorithm, slogging through something you've lost interest in.

I hope you have a great weekend ahead, and happy hunting👊

These guides are godly thank you

great vid, you forgot you can overhead slam after a quick reload very important. also to chain bursts back to back I recommend this loop: burst > hold guard > thrust > quick reload > slam > burst

Thanks for this man, I've been playing MH Wilds for over a year now, always wanted to learn the Gunlance but the other video guides on Youtube are so overly convoluted all of them put me off.

Gonna jump in and try learning this now! :D

Hey man, I appreciate you making these videos. You made a lot of these weapons much more doable. Although this may be the only time I say anything to you. I want you to know that even though I'm here 10 months late, I, 10 months later am here enjoying your content and you are impacting others with what you made here. This will be here and others will appreciate it. You made something that will help people who will more than likely never speak a word to you but you helped them. That should make you feel good, and you deserve to hear it. I appreciate you, take care friend.

You genuinely make the best guides I've ever seen on MH weapons. I'm definitely looking forward to more MH content.

Your guides are literally the best.

This is the perfect guide. Organized and easier to understand for newbies

Superb video . Thank you so much for your hard work getting it together in very simple way

Your guides are amazing! They're simple enough that my ADHD brain can hold on to the concepts after a viewing or two but not so simple that they gloss over the finer points.

Anytime a friend needs a primer in the MH Weapon Arts or to even brush up, I'm sending them one of your vids!

I came across your Lance video when you posted it 4 months ago. I first played Monster Hunter when I picked up World and Rise on sale with the DLC expansions included. I only played through about half the story on each and I only tried Lance a couple of times (literally).

When Wilds came out, I thought I might try Lance but still didn't know how it worked. And then I came across your video which not only explained it in clear terms but also made me a believer in giving it a real try. Once I knew HOW to use it (thanks to your video) I found it really fun to play. And it also made try out Gunlance (with the help of other guides).

I stopped playing Wilds for a couple of months because I started some other games I'd been looking forward to. I just finished those up and am ready to get back into Wilds when you put out this video on Gunlance, which I've both been waiting for AND is timely since it's helped me remember the movesets and I LOVE your flowchart easily showing how to get from one move to another. It makes me regret not having a printer anymore so I could print it out and keep it near the PC for quick reference. (I have to settle with screenshots on my phone XD)

I'm glad you've seen success from this and getting it from talking about a game you clearly enjoy and like to teach people about. I've been subscribed since that Lance video and I'm interested to see where you and your channel go next.
