I remember my first session way back in the 70s in an enduro kart. I was fortunate enough to pit next to a very experienced driver/mechanic who allowed me to follow him around the course during practice. Seeing your apex and braking points in a kart where you're laying down was very difficult! Rookies had to start at the back of the field, so I started 24th out of 25 entries. I finished 10th and was absolutely hooked.
This wasn't a kart maintenance video, but my advice is to look at you rear axle frequently and keep it clean so faint cracks will be visible. Keep an eye on the recesses where the keyways are. The 50mm axle is fragile and if you hit a lot of curbs on accident or intentionally you run the risk of cracking an axle. It will eventually break and will lock up one of your rear tires and you know the rest...
Not to be a bummer I was hoping for a video that shows more off track information, obviously clubs are all different but i would like to see a video for new people of where to park how to set up in the paddock and how not to look like the most awkward muppets in the country. Cheers
