For weeks before the WBC began, baseball fans were hoping for a matchup between Trout and Ohtani.
And that dream matchup came true with two outs in the ninth inning of the WBC final.
What an ending.

Ohtani vs Mike Trout
The greatest two-out scene in baseball history in the ninth inning.

This game will forever be remembered by baseball fans.

The real World Series

I think this game will be recorded on baseball history eternally.

This tournament has really increased the value of the WBC. Until now, it didn't seem like some countries were taking it seriously, but I think from the next one onwards, all countries will probably take it seriously, like the soccer World Cup.

The final scene of Otani vs. Trout is one I keep going back to. It is a legendary confrontation scene. The expressions on their faces at this moment are priceless and beautiful. More than the victory or defeat, the fact that this confrontation took place is a triumph of baseball. Baseball has surpassed movies.

What a game! Glad it’s on YouTube in full for posterity.

My 3rd time watching this game, and I still enjoyed it. Ninth Inning, 3-2 Runs, 2 outs, 3 & 2 counts, and 2 greatest players (who are team mates)... that is just crazy! Someone in Holywood wrote this script.

Both american and japanese players were truly amazing. I wanna say thank-you to both teams.

Without a doubt, one of the coolest games of baseball ever

18:57 Turner solo HR, US 1-0
28:01 Murakami solo HR, tied 1-1
40:34 Nootbar RBI single, Japan 1-2
1:06:26 Okamoto solo HR, Japan 1-3
2:20:33 Schwarber solo HR, Japan 2-3
2:43:26 Trout vs Ohtani
2:46:07 Japan wins the WBC!!

No one would have expected Starter-Shota Imanaga to win 10 games on the MLB stage a year and a half later.

Besides the Trout vs Ohtani showdown in the end, another part to focus on is the relay of Japanese pitchers(Togo, Takahashi, Ito, Taisei) that came in to hold off the stacked US lineup to 0 runs. Most all of them are still in their early 20s and have massive potential after this tournament. Especially Togo and Takahashi, they’re still 22 and 20 years old.

Man Japan semi final and final just like a movie if not better, awesome, just awesome..

Crazy coming back and seeing both Murakami and Okamoto make an impact in this game, now making impacts in the MLB
