December 25 edit:
Merry XMAS Spiral Army. I hope you had a wonderful XMas.

Fun fact the guy who composed this song also did the pillar men theme from jojo

This song is the best incarnation of "The indomitable human spirit VS. The indifferent cruelty of the universe"

"Libera me from Hell" consists of two very distinct music pieces: Opera and rap. Opera is a very somber and traditionally tragic genre, with themes usually centered around inevitability of fate and human mortality. Opera is supposed to make you experience catharsis and accept whatever painful truth it is trying to convey

Rap is different. Very different . It's fundamentaly a rebellious genre, very energetic and defiant of traditions and norms. One of the main themes explored in rap is willpower and how it can overcome pretty much any obstacle that can possibly rise in your way.

"Libera me from Hell" takes this genres and makes them fight to the death. Throughout the whole song rap - symbol of human will, determination and the power of the spiral - struggles against Opera - symbol of fate, depression, stagnation and anti-spiral. At times rap is almost completely drowned by the Opera, only for it to gloriously re-emerge and silence it's opponent.

This might be the best symbolism in anime music I've ever heard in my life

Imagine drilling through the source wall. Not because it’s some cosmic, prevalent entity that holds secrets behind it. Trapping those who touch it.

But because, at the end of the day, it’s a wall. Peak fiction. What a death battle that was.

Technology still hasn't created a speaker loud enough for this one

This show found me in the darkest period in my life. Grades were slipping. I lost my mom and my dad couldn’t walk, worst of all the love of my life had just dumped me. I was ready to give up in it all. But this show unironically gave me the will and courage to keep on fighting until tomorrow. Forever will this show and song remain in my heart. Let it be a lesson to whoever is reading this. It’s going to get better. Keep on moving forward. Fight the power

This anime was released in 2007 and yet even in 2026 it's one of the most beautiful animation I've seen.

"We evolve, beyond the person that we were a minute before. Little by little, we advance with each turn. That's how a drill works!"

The fact that Viral dreamed of having a wife and child made me cry

My girlfriend said to me "these lyrics don't go together"
But that's kind of the point. Do the impossible, girl.

The OPERA refers to  those who accepts their sad fate and the RAP refers to those who fight against them who forces them to accept that sad fate. Both of them combined, its a perfect example of our world.

2026 has started. Do it.
Achieve your goals
Touch the Untouchable
Break the Unbreakable.
FIGHT THE POWA!!

Evangelion: Simon with depression
TTGL: Shinji without depression

When you realize that this song is just a giant rap battle, everything about it makes complete sense.

"Whoa, when the hell did you get taller than me?"

After Callie and ERB's cover I had to check out the orignal.
