Ardanuç Kutlu Village Vineyard Structure: Mysterious Giant Stones in the Valley and the Latest Status of the Excavations
In this episode, the team visits the archaeological excavation site inside the large stone structure located in Kutlu Village Vineyard in Artvin/Ardanuç, which is considered unique for the region; the work, which has been ongoing for three years under the leadership of the Artvin Museum Directorate and with the scientific consultancy of Dr. Osman Aytek, with the permission and support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is discussed. The route to the village from Artvin via the Berta Bridge viaduct and the Cehennem Deresi Canyon, road conditions, and living conditions in the area are described. Archaeologist Dr. Sinan Kılıç mentions obsidian arrowheads, ceramic finds, and possible Early Iron Age (13th-12th century BC) activity on the nearby Samorila Hill, stating that the structure may belong to different periods, that the drilling will increase with the system established for the extraction of the massive stones, and that the structure could become an important tourist destination in the future.
