There is a reason polygraph tests are not admissible in court.  RIP Steve Dymond :'(

I cannot stress enough that a polygraph/lie detector is entirely based in bunk science and is in no way a reliable source. That poor man

The Jeremy Kyle segment literally made me cry just now. The look on that man’s face is absolutely HORRIFIC. He is so confused and you can tell he has no idea what to do. Nothing he said mattered. And you can’t even really blame the other family members because they probably thought that a nationally televised show would ever do something like that, especially when it could ruin entire lives.

That seriously broke my heart to watch. I wish I had never seen that. He looked so helpless and trapped and confused. Not to mention how absolutely heartbroken the wife was, as well.

I’ll never understand how greed and notoriety will always outweigh the value of a human being’s life. Ever.

"BuT SaVoX yOu DiDn'T eVeN sHoW uS tHe MeDiA tHaT yOu DoN't HaVe!"

The Lavern Roach match absolutely ruined Georgie Small's life. One of the saddest quotes I've ever read came during his interview with True Magazine's 1963 annual: "I wanted to be a fighter. All my whole life I wanted to be a fighter... And see what happened. I'm broke and sick. I got my wife broke. I ruined everything. I guess the only thing I ever did in my whole life was kill a friend". I feel so sympathetic for Small.

I could feel how genuine Steve Dymond was being there. They probably rigged the test for ratings or something, and it cost the man his life. It's easy to see why this incident caused so much backlash, and why so many people argue that lie detectors should not be used in court.

The fact that you have to explain that you don't have access to media that is explicitly called "lost" is a rather sad statement on the state of humanity.

That picture of Jeremy Kyle with the bodyguard honestly reminds me of Jack Doherty.
Just a weak, pathetic excuse of a man who riles people up and then hides behind muscle.
Not surprising he needs it, after all, he benefitted for nearly 14 years from people at their lowest point and our of their expense.
There is honestly a spot in Avīci strictly reserved for Jeremy, and that is not said lightly. It is certainly the case for Mick Philpott.
That said, I do respect Jeremy Kyle for calling out the audience for laughing at the guy being locked in the flat.

Jeremy Kyle like "well you wanted the test so it's not our fault" is such a cowardly move. He was the one touting that their polygraph tests were 90 or 95% accurate when in reality the chance the polygraph is accurate is about as statistically likely as guessing correctly on a coin flip. Polygraphs are not reliable but he lied and said they were and used it to exploit vulnerable people then when something inevitably went wrong he tried to blame the victim. Disgraceful behaviour. I'm glad the show got cancelled. It should have been a long time before Steve Dymond's tragic death.

How Jeremy Kyle still has a career after the Steve Dymond incident is beyond me tbh

The NSFL section of the lost media wiki is a great way to kill a few hours. Reading it is both horrific yet fascinating

When the jeremy kyle show 1st started the disclaimer at the bottom of the screen used to say the lie detector test was "98-99% accurate" this was then changed to "98-97%  accurate but this is disputed" over the years it slowly dropped to 90-91% and then changed to "We believe the lie detector had a high rate of accuracy but some people dispute this" so it was always crooked AF

The infamous Jerry Springer episode "Secret Mistresses Confronted" would be another good inclusion for the lost media series. This episode, which aired in 2000, featured a love triangle between Nancy Campbell-Panitz, her ex-husband Ralf Panitz, and his wife Eleanor.  Nancy was brought onto the show by Ralf to paint her in a bad light, despite Ralf was sleeping with both women. After Nancy was harassed off the show, an argument that took place between the three a few months later resulted in Ralf beating Nancy to death. He was later sentenced to life in prison in 2002. To this day, only small fragments of the episode have resurfaced.

The Jeremy Kyle case is a perfect example of why lie "detectors" should never be used to determine if someone is lying or not. You can be absolutely truthful in your responses yet fail because you're nervous which causes the physiological responses that the machine is measuring. Meanwhile someone who lies at every question can pass because their body remains calm throughout (psychopaths being the best example of this phenomenon).

3:34 This definitely one of those pieces of lost media I hope can remain lost, even though it is a weird thing for a private collector to want to own.

It's such a shame when a content creator you watch dies so unexpectedly. R.I.P. Grant

It's crazy to realize how popular the Jeremy Kyle show was, once upon a time, during its peak in the early 2010's and now, everything has been wiped out like a fever dream.

20:32 the loud snoring, gurgling sound someone makes as they're dying is called agonal breathing. For any street opioid users in this thread, if your friend nods out and makes this noise, they are *NOT ASLEEP*. Their brain is not getting enough oxygen and they're *DYING*. NARCAN THEM OR CALL AN AMBULANCE ASAP!

RIP Grant Thompson.
