No more battles, honestly just get rid of left mouse button and alt attacks, make every animal pin. Make stegos tail pin stuff to the ground when swung. Make carno dig its horns into your target and pin them to death! Pin for the win

That's why I like this game; they add various mechanics, further increasing the immersion.

Good guess but the animation that you keep playing is its thrash animation which means when you grab a small dinosaur in you mouth that is dead and you hold click and shake your mouse to thrash it and take out the organs.

Even with the pin animation on the dino, it doesn't look like its teeth are long enough to hit anything vital, and his skull is far less robust than rex so probably insufficient bite force to outright crush dino's neck. I vote drowning to be the kill mechanism, requiring the spino to start on land and time his grab when dino is already low on air.

Holding Rex’s mouth open? Yeah, not happening. Nothing will keep those jaws open if Rex wants to close them.

You can see these buggers making a bee line towards you in the water thanks to those spines.

1:27 I think this is still the corpse/live prey thrash animation like the one Rex has where if the target is small enough to lift up it grabs it and slams it into the ground after using crush.
For Spinosaurus the lunge/pin will likely be the same mechanic in terms of controls but result in different outcomes depending on the target size, once again just like Rex's crush.
1:54 Also Dondi himself said that even in the last image of Spino and Rex he posted the Spino was way too big and would be scaled down.

That is almost 100% the thrashing animation for smaller animals.

Spino should also get 75% body weight grab in water just like Deinos

Looks like it's a mortal kombat finishing animation. When a dino is weak or has really low stam, Spino grabs it and rips it's head off with his mouth

i also have another theory, if rex & spino’s grabs both have the same threshold, will spino have a stun for his own weight class (75-100)🤔 like maybe he just straight up pushes you, his bite force wouldn’t be enough to do enough dmg after stunning you like rex, so maybe spino will just have to avoid his own weight class at that point

defensive stance would need some sort of stun resistance to keep up with trike steg rex, they’d still clap spino even without their stuns, it’s too much DPS
