Fight #10. My favourite performance so far.

Secured a Round 4 TKO against a solid clincher who had won his previous four fights via knee KO.

Happy with my performance on the night.
Starting to feel the pieces of this Muay Thai puzzle coming together with every fight.

This was the first fight where I felt everything starting to flow naturally.

It was also my first time fighting at Phetchbuncha Stadium, something I have been working towards day in and day out. Stepping into such a stadium like that was a privilege.

As for this journey - It has been just over three years since I first stepped foot inside a martial arts gym and began training jiujitsu and MMA @shaolinmmagalway

Since then, combat sports have gradually become a bigger and bigger part of my life with each passing year.

But as for Muay Thai - I have only been training this sport for 10 months in total - all of which has been in Thailand - having never trained it back home in Ireland.

In those 10 months, I'm proud to have had 10 fights across eight different stadiums, which still blows my mind every time I think about it. It doesn't feel that long ago that I was in college and milking cows every day.

As for the future
I won't lie -

I seriously considered taking a break from this sport a couple of months ago to pursue other things in life. I found myself questioning whether my passion for Muay Thai was beginning to fade.
So I made a promise to myself: I wouldn't take a step back until I had fought at Phetch.

Since making that promise, I've had three more fights—two on Koh Phangan and one on Koh Samui.
Over those three back-to-back fight camps, I remembered why I fell in love with this sport in the first place.

As things stand now, I can't think of anything else I'd rather devote my time, energy and dedication to.
This sport, like life, has its highs and lows, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The journey continues and I can't wait to step back in the ring here again soon 🇹🇭

But as for now I head home for a couple weeks to catch up with family and friends.

Until the next one.

Godspeed.
