I remember the first time I listened to it: Was laughing really hard about Daveās vocals until I heard the solo, my jaw dropped and I instantly became a Megadeth fan Still my favorite Megadeth song
"Wake up Dead" by Megadeth. It's about Mustaine having to sneak home late at night after partying without his wife waking up. It has the best head banging breakdown riff of all time.
As a lifelong Megadeth fan, this brings me great joy to see others hear a song Iāve heard thousands of times for the first time. It takes me back to when I first popped that Rust in Peace tape in my Walkman as a kid. š
Bruh, I just came out from de gym listening to Raining Blood and Tornado of Souls, and then you guys came out with reaction to both songs. That is coincidentally weird. š
This lineup was the best Megadeth lineup of all time. Its hard to believe that Dave Mustaine found another guitarist that could shred as well as him, but if you listen to Marty Friedmans solo here, he may even have Dave beat. Legendary stuff!
Marty Friedman is a metal god on the lead guitar, Dave's riffs are dope as fook too, this truly is one of metals greatest solos of all time. P.S. Mr Crowley, Eddie's Eruption and Black Star by Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force, and Rock Bottom UFO Micheal Schenker are legend status.
Marty Friedman wrote all of his solos and parts - not to mention learned all of Mustaineās parts - in less than a month before immediately jumping into the Rust in Peace tour. Marty is the one you hear in that solo in this song.
