As a thank-you to everyone who listens to my lore videos to fall asleep, here is a special Elden Ring video. Bedtime story, sleep aid, whatever you wanna call it - it's my retelling of the whole overarching story of Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree.

I tell you about the Lands Between, Queen Marika, the Golden Order, her children, and key events such as the Night of the Black Knives, the Shattering, and the long wandering of the Tarnished. I tried to incorporate DLC lore here and there, but with so many little stories and characters, I couldn't fit them all in. Perhaps I'll make another part to this in the future.

Anyway, I hope it brings you all rest, fellow Tarnished.

"when a daddy radagon and mommy marika love each other very much, it CURSES YOUR BLOODLINE WITH INEXPLICABLE HORRORS FROM OTHERWORLDLY HELLISH REALMS!" chalice traumatizing her kids if she had kids lmao

I can't help but imagine a bunch of grown men all set up for nap time in a big room with Elden Ring art on the walls while she sits in front of us reading this story with a little light that looks like a piece of grace lol.

Relaxing ad at the beginning.

50mins of relaxing, ad free Elden Ring lore from Chalice.

This is god send, thank you so much.

Massive respect for your eloquence and general voice-over skill. I would gladly listen to audio books by you. This is such a great video and I appreciate the effort and consideration.

You’re voice is so sweet when you say “let us begin our tale” (1:50) like a mom about to tell her kids a fairytale

The reason behind The Shattering, watered down:
“And then Ranni got fed up with God”

0:38 that’s what you think, little do you know. I’m legitimately simple minded.

You should have this as a series.
bed time stories of video games is a great idea.

Most people probably wouldn't really think about it, but children's stories have a very specific rhythm to them that's pretty difficult to replicate unless you specifically write a story to fit that rhythm. Reworking the lore of Elden Ring to fit a format like this must have been pretty challenging.

There's a reason why George R. R. Martin wrote The Ice Dragon as like a writing exercise back in the late 80s, despite having already won like a dozen locus and hugo awards by then.

Everyone's favorite Lore Mother is here!!! We love her, time for some well earned rest

You tell this story as if you lived in the lands between that you have witness every battle every recorded history every single event with such passion and grace no one has ever told the story as beautiful as you

The slight inaccuracies/creative decisions/freedoms or biased wordings of certain events is such a wonderful way to tell the story as a fable—it has the feeling of a world in which stories like this are passed down to one's children based on how they view the world they reside in and whose factions they serve. You've done this so well.

This made me cry...
Renalla and her loneliness
Marika and her grief
Radagon in his failed duty
And all their children reduced to monsters in agony.
So many promising beacons of Hope, reduced to ashes in blood.

And all that was left were those stripped of grace long ago.... The only ones left to pick up the broken pieces. The only ones who could feel the pain the world had grown numb to.

Like little sunflowers reaching for the light one last time, or the inevitable decay of death or madness.

I forgive all of them. For beyond their sins they held meaning and duty. They were martyrs. And they fell not into death, but into peace.

Rest now ye champions of Golden blood. Weep no more. Bleed no more. Watch us put the pieces together again, so that you may have eternal peace.

I find it funny, and perhaps a bit endearing that you still have the story teller instinct to look at your listener even when, supposedly, this video is technically made to be listened while going to sleep and no one would be seeing you look back.
