Big waves returned to Hookipa today — even with light wind, the action was incredible.  
The best local windsurfers were charging hard, making the most of the powerful swell and showing true Maui style wave riding.

During the session, the Hookipa lifeguards had to launch the jetski to assist a windsurfer who lost both his mast and sail in the heavy surf. Their quick response and professionalism once again showed why they are such an essential part of this beach. Huge respect to the Hookipa lifeguards — always ready when someone needs help.

The video ends with beautiful drone footage capturing the size, energy, and raw beauty of the waves rolling into Hookipa.
