Kata is an area located south of Patong and Karon. It features two main beaches: Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach. Additionally, the area has two markets, along with a variety of eateries, bars, and shops. While less lively than Patong, this quieter atmosphere makes Kata more family-friendly.

HOW TO GET TO KATA BEACH FROM PHUKET AIRPORT

Most accommodations can arrange private transportation for you, helping you avoid any hassle at the airport. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport. The trip typically takes up to 90 minutes, as the area is located about 50 km from the airport.

You can also rent a car from the airport to explore Phuket on your own. However, driving in Thailand can be challenging for foreigners, so I generally do not recommend it. If you do choose to drive, please exercise extra caution.

ADDITIONAL TIPS:

1. Since Kata Beach is surrounded by tropical forest, mosquitoes and other insects are common. I recommend buying a local insect repellent from a convenience store, or you can ask your accommodation to provide one for you.

2. Phuket can be hot and humid year-round. Purchasing a cooling spray or portable handheld misting fan can be particularly useful.
