Onur Aksal (Halit Ergenç) is a man who distrusts women because he was cheated on long ago and because, when he was very young, his father abandoned him and his mother to go with another woman. He is also a man who loves reading, and his favorite book is the famous Arabic novel, One Thousand and One Nights. He owns the important construction company Binyapi, where Sherezade Evliyaoğlu (Bergüzar Korel), a brilliant architect, works. She lost her husband, Ahmet Evliyaoğlu, in an accident and was left alone with her five-year-old son, Kaan (Efe Çınar), who has been diagnosed with leukemia. The time comes when Kaan's disease reaches a critical point, requiring an urgent bone marrow transplant. She goes to her father-in-law, Burhan Evliaoğlu (Metin Çekmez), to ask him for the money she needs for the operation, but he refuses to give it to her because he never approved of his son, Ahmet (Attila Türkmen), marrying her. He also believes she is responsible for his death and has lived denying his grandson ever since. Since her father-in-law said no, Şehrazat has no choice but to ask Binyabi for the money. Onur says he will give it to her on the condition that she spends one night with him (he does this to test her, since, according to him, women only care about money).
