This one was a fan submission, and from the laughing emojis alone, we already knew we were probably about to see something wild.
In this reaction, we checked out Pete & Bas – “T-Pain”, and I’m not gonna lie — this was definitely one of those videos that catches you off guard almost immediately. The setup, the beat, the way the video eases you into it, and then boom… these two older dudes come in rapping like that. Off top, it gives viral, gimmicky, funny, and entertaining all at once.
For us, though, entertainment and replay value aren’t always the same thing.
There were actually some decent punchlines in here, and I can absolutely see the business play behind it. I understand why this kind of content goes viral. It’s unexpected, it’s funny, and it’s easy to pass around. But as far as the actual grading goes, we still had to keep it real. We gave this one a D because it just didn’t feel believable to us, and that authenticity piece matters.
That said, it was still entertaining, still funny, and definitely worth reacting to.
Quick background: Pete & Bas are a London rap duo who’ve been active since 2017, and they built their name off the novelty of being older men making UK rap and drill records. Their song “T-Pain” later got an official remix featuring T-Pain himself.

They write their own bars and their grandkids helps them with modern slang.
They write the majority of the bars themselves. They producers do some polishing and make the beats.
They've only been doing this since 2017, so you aren't gonna find any vids of them when they were young.
I know it's crazy to think that these two old guys are doing this for real, but (ahem) these two old guys are doing this for real. You should check out one of their live shows. They are absolutely BONKERS in the best way possible. I've seen them several times - even though I have to get out my passport and book an international flight every time. I've got tickets for three dates on their upcoming tour. NOBODY parties like these two.
