I just did Brighton as my first marathon as someone who couldn't even run a mile this time last year! It was the hardest thing I've ever done but I did it and I have never been so proud. I watched your videos before I ran and loved them!

Dude. So pleased for you, obviously the time was immense but the whole thing and what it meant to you was evident throughout the whole series, and this is the cherry on the cake. Great video, MASSIVE achievement. Big andy love.❤

I ran it yesterday, my first ever marathon and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without your prior vids . Thanks for all the tips , info and time spent making them . What an experience !!

Amazing race Sam! Well done, and thank you for capturing what a fantastic experience the day was. The final 10k for me felt like the hardest thing I've ever done, but as you say there's no feeling like crossing that finish line, and the crowds and atmosphere were unreal. All the best in London -- will be cheering you on. 👊

Well done Sam and thanks for another great video as well as all the videos leading up to this which have been enjoyable to watch and informative. I was also in team green but in wave 8 so didn't see you, I have the same birthday as you but I'm a lot older having turned 60 this year. I am gobsmacked to have smashed my Brighton marathon PB from the last time I did it 11 years ago as well as getting the FV60 marathon record for my club. What a fantastic day that can be relived through your videos. So pleased that you have recovered from injury and all the best for London,

You absolutely smashed that! I came in at 4:49 and was well chuffed for my first marathon.
Your videos have been a massive help and I just wanted to say thank you. Good luck in London.

Huge congrats! I watched your channel last year when you cycled the whole route & I watched it over & over and it really helped me so thank you so much for that & congrats on your amazing run this year! 🎉

THANK YOU!!! Ran my first marathon yesterday in 5:48, not quick by any measure but I ran the whole way without walking which was my aim! 😊 couldn’t have done it without your tips and course guides so thank you so much, can’t wait to watch the recap and follow your journey to London!

Great video Sam and I'm really glad all your hard work recovering from injury to having a solid training block, has paid off.
I'm sure London will go really well too.
I've run Brighton three times now and the conditions at this one, felt the hardest. The wind drained me. Hopefully the conditions at London will be perfect

Thanks for your Brighton videos. They really helped me prep for Brighton. I was pleased to thank you in person around 1-2 miles into the race (I am the one in the Portsmouth vest 6 mins in the video 😉).

Wind was tough which made the 2nd half harder than it should have been but a great day and a 20 min pb for me!

Oh mate! Having followed your videos I can't believe I was standing next to you on the start line and didn't get a chance to say thanks in person. Your Brighton marathon guides have been awesome and really helped me yesterday. I went with the 3:15 pacer until half way then pushed on to finish 3:10 with the help of your advice. Those cambers! All the best for London top man!

Thanks for posting.  I really enjoy seeing what the experience is like at the sharper end of things.  God, it looks like hard work.  How you bash out those times, film and provide commentary, I will never know.

I was the Brighton Rhino for the year and had an absolute blast.  It was hard toil, and I trundled home in 6:15.  You could call it 6:00 if you allowed for all the selfie stops and DJ dances but who’s counting?  The atmosphere was superb.  Possibly the best Brighton crowd I’ve seen yet and it didn’t stop there.  The camaraderie between supporters, volunteers and runners really did make you feel that we’re all in it together.

The breeze is an issue for a rhino, which basically becomes a sail.  I was caught by a large gust shortly after I made the turn at Rottingdean.  I planted my foot and then just… stopped.  All I could do was brace to stop myself from heading backwards.  Still, it gave everybody a good giggle.

My tip for the organisers next year.  If they have the space on Hove Prom for the run off zones, put the finish 100-150 yards further east and get away from the toilet block.  Last year you could see the finish gantry from half a mile away.  This year you could only see it once you’d passed the loos and were 150 metres from home.  That might have delayed some people really wanting to from making that final kick.  I’d hate to think targets were missed because of it.  Should be simple enough to fix.  All they’d need to do is shave some off the Rottingdean out and back to accommodate it.  I’ll mention it in the post race feedback.

Looking forward to more videos.  Thanks. Well done, again.

Superb Sammy. Your little face at the end!! And the penguin walk!! Great achievement.
(And the opening montage? Genius)

Yeah you nailed that intro and outro lad! Great video. What makes it special is how great it is to see you back enjoying your running. It’s infectious. I’ve been around since the very early days and saw you patiently work back through your injuries, learning your lessons, and it was relatable, honest, humble and inspiring. I’m currently out with a strain myself and the fomo is very real, but I just smiled throughout this vid. You deserve all the shoutouts and the following you’re steadily building. Great job, and looking forward to part 2 in London already.

Your vids have been an unbelievable asset to my training over the past month or so. I looked hard for you at PP to say thank you in person but couldn't find you. First marathon and ran 3:57. Thanks so much my man. Best of luck for London!!

Finished my first marathon yesterday! Been watching your guides and videos before hand so thankyou so much! Loved EVERY minute of it! So much love for marathon runners!

Congratulations.  Chatting and filming the whole way around and a 3:30 is awesome work!

What an epic intro... probably the best intro to race day vlog ive ever seen 👌... Brighton was my first ever marathon so brought back some memories. Very well covered. Good luck in London 🙌

Thanks so much for your videos leading up to Brighton. My wife and daughter did it (daughter’s first 26.2) and I shared them all. You’ve all motivated me to enter next year (2nd time). Canny trip from Newcastle but it’s all booked. Good luck for London. It’s a blast. Now, I have Manchester marathon on Sunday.. onward.

would like to say thank you so much for all your Brighton marathon content, really helped me prepare for the whole experience and I managed to finish in a time of 3:27 in my first marathon!!!
