Miku carrying the figure market lol. All hail the queen

@roynobody 1 year ago

she made like a spotify wrapped thing lol nice

@warxdrum 1 year ago

the new jersey figure was also talked about because she has 4 black bases. 3 only for her hair xD

I think the biggest issue with Demon Slayer is the gap in quality of figures. You have your ok quality low price figures and like b-tier mid price figures then the really high quality stuff was WAY too expensive

The Albedo 1/4 B-style figure was also talked about a lot because TOM kept delaying the figure because it was being fulfilled in the US from their North American supplier, Ultra Tokyo Connection, rather than directly from Japan and that company apparently had a ton of issues with getting things shipped. It ended up getting delayed month after month for nearly a year. So that's something that sparks a lot of conversation on MFC. That and once it was found to be a surprise cast off, the price skyrocketed for her, especially on the aftermarket, which I'm guessing is why she got a weird re-release but with a black bunny suit instead of a white one like the newer Narberal and Shalltear figures.

New Jersey's bunny figure also had that stupid base that was like 5 ugly and awkward discs for her hair. People were not happy about that.

I'm not surprised that Rem gets more figures than Ram, but I am surprised that Asuka gets much more than Rei

Data is so cool! 😎 Thank you for taking the time to dig through the data and sharing the results of your findings. There are definitely some surprises.

I'm interested in the best selling original characters, since it's such a huge market.

This was such a cool video--thank you for spending the time to gather this data!!

7:25 The figure on the bottom left of the right side of the screen is Natori Sana, a Japanese indie vtuber! It's funny how so many people have figures of her despite not knowing her. Imagine how confused you would be when her figure comes with an eggplant and a shrimp.

I never understood the bunny style craze in the first place. To be real most anime girl characters designs relie heavily on clothes to even differentiate them from each other. You put them in a bunny fit and they all start to look the same on the shelf to the point where ive seen people struggle to figure out who the characters even are lol

The figure market is so weird, i remember buying a Chiaki Nanami figure at Marui Annex in 2018 in japan for 7k yen only for a friend to make fun of me because I had overpaid for a "cheap" Prize figure (he was right, the figure was originally a cheap prize figure). But Chiaki is a character in so much demand with very few merch and figures, that this prize figure is now being sold for around 80$ USD which is more than what I had paid for her but I could never sell her

This was a really interesting video! Really liked it!!! One question that I have would be which are the 10 most popular (sold) female characters and same for males characters. Some of the answers may be already showing in the info in the video, but I just thought about it.

Was fun listening to you talk about it! I've noticed some patterns over the years, so it's about what I figured. I do admit that I own many that have tanked, but I think the most hurtful one was my Demon Slayer Akaza Aniplex figure (mainly because I bought him local at the time)... but his quality was pretty disappointing in his hair, unable to get him flush onto the base and having a small gap between his abs and pants. Sadly I only got some money back, return was not an option.

This is easily one of the coolest vids Ive seen in a while. Ive only been collecting for a year or two and have always wondered how popular my favs were. Absolutely awesome vid!!

I want Evangelion and MLP aftermarket figs, but unfortunately, I would need to be living in the streets for a few months 😭 Thankfully, Koto is slowly reproducing the MLP lineup again.

How the smackaroo did you compile all this data?! That's incredible!

The 15th Anniversary Miku is talked about because:
- Price is high 40k+ JPY on release. People were skeptical of the price until it was released.
- Global Freaks bankruptcy or whatnot resulted in many people not getting their preorder.
- The current After market price of it is now at least double around 100k JPY.

I bought the Kanao figure after it dropped to 5,000 yen on Amiami. It looks great, but i wouldn't have bought it if not for the sale. Quality wise it was definitely worth >10,000 yen.

Great video! I'd love to know which sculptors are the most popular, or have made the most successful figures! Or maybe which artists have gotten the most successful figures!
