Writing a 6 figure bonus check to a rapper out of the blue just to say thank you is enough to prove that he is a good person, wow

Tommy was the first one to be officially cancelled on the internet
He even beat Soulja boy 😂😂

It's a shame that a malicious rumor almost ruined his brand, and it turns out that it wasn't even true in the first place

And the crazy part about it is the rumor was most likely started by a company who was jealous of Hilfigers success with the black community and knew that if they made up a racist rumor about him, many black people will automatically believe it due to our experiences with racism and racist business owners.

This is why it’s important to QUESTION EVERYTHING and NOT just the things you already disagree with.  You will surprise yourself

As a black woman, I have been telling people that it was not true for years since the rumors started. I am in my late 40s and people just want to believe what they want to believe.  It is so annoying.

Tom grew up in a small town in NY. When all the soldiers came back from Vietnam he bought their uniforms, he made altercations, and sold them in his tiny store.
he also sold bongs , pipes and smoking paraphernalia. literally started from nothing!

It’s funny, I remember people saying that he didn’t want black people wearing his clothes but then when you get the facts he was literally supportive and supplying his clothes to rappers.

I have a feeling someone from Ralph Lauren was responsible for all those emails and fake rumors 😂

Damn I really believed he said that . I been hearing that for years . No proof . Just believed it . Damn he needs a apology .

This rumor made me realize how many people are bold faced liars. I literally met many ppl growing up that claimed they seen his “racist rant” oprah with their own eyes. Mind you I was born in the mid 90s…

I honestly owe Tommy Hilfiger an apology, I had always heard the rumor and thought it was true, he seems like a stand up dude now that I see this

Thank you for this. I remember hearing about this when I was a child and to this very day whenever I hear the name 'Tommy Hilfiger' I still think of that rumor. Very sad

I believed this growing up and it’s crazy to see how supportive he actually was to the community.

As a black male I thought this was true and stopped wearing it but loved it. I can wear Tommy again and not feel like a coon. 🤟🏾

Always knew that wasn't true. Had the pleasure of doing some promotional work for Tommy. He was one of the first major designers to really embrace hip hop culture.

It’s terrible being blamed for something you didn’t do. I hope that man is okay.

A good name is more precious than riches and gold

Really cool to see you reaching out to the fashion industry and dispelling things that even people in this comment section thought were true . Great watch man

Imagine the shame i feel right now... I live so far away from the epicenter of all this, but the rumor did get to us here as well and i even believed it for more than a decade. My reason behind watching this video was to confirm what i had heard. Well, i have been proven wrong 😞 My sincere apologies to Tommy and his brother. Peace!!!

You know it was probably Ralph Lauren or one of his competitors that did that shit lol

I was a full grown woman in 1990s. I never ever ever heard that Tommy Hilfiger was taped an Oprah show where he made racists remarks and she threw him of her show. Even though there was no social media or YouTube blogs such a story would have gotten out. We had tabloid magazines, MTV, the internet and paparazzi. Everyone chomped at the bit to report stories about Oprah. I worked at a college library throughout the 90s. My eyes stayed glued to People magazine and Rolling Stone magazine. I read pop culture articles every single day. There was never a story Tommy Hilfiger making racist comments on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Furthermore, there are no video or audio clips of this event happening. Oprah taped her shows in front of an audience at Harpo Studios in downtown Chicago. If this Oprah had happened, the public outrage would have huge.
