I forgot drawing a masterpiece. I gave up going after hyper realism. I decided to learn to draw from imagination. I started drawing boxes and cylinders. Now I have drawn my first robot from imagination. It's not good enough but I feel quite satisfied. I'm 26.

All roads leads to boxes

Man i can’t stop coming back to these videos. What makes your videos so unique is you talk about what between the art lessons we tend to find online. Like here we know how to draw the box and what to do with it. But we don’t know how to bridge the gap from drawing boxes to drawing complex shapes.

For anyone who has trouble with understand the box, you can always go simpler and just think about a single plane on that box. Start with one plane then think about the how the next plane in relation to your first plane is supposed to look like. Is it 90 degrees? 45? 30? Once you figure that out. Think about what your third plane is supposed to look like in relation to the first two. Eventually you’ll have formed your desired object.

These explanations are so high quality while being down to earth and practical that I am completely floored, can’t wait to see/learn more

3:32 this right here man is absolutely frying my brain. Might be simple for you but it's very difficult for me

everytime i feel stuck, i come and watch a broken draw video and remember art isnt impossible. ty for giving me relief when my passion for art poisons my love for it. I am yet to draw very dynamically, my goal is comicbook and manga art styles. I can come up with poses fairly more now. The only thing holding me back are heads and hands, which ofc I believe will be mastered once I master my understanding of form more. never stop making these videos ❣

just from my experience when i found your channel in april-may ish i drew boxes for probably a month and a half straight, literally just boxes, and some ellipses, it was frustrating because i thought my boxes were bad and all at the start but now after i did that my art has marginally improved, i could hardly draw a bike, plane, human skull that all looked believable but after that month or so of literally JUST boxes i dont have as much trouble putting things in perspective.

Man, every time I struggle with something, you come with a  new video for solving that problem. What a hero. Amazing channel and amazing artist, don't stop creating this kind of videos :)

bro u taught perspective better to me than any book i read on the subject

This is exactly what I've been needing

Finally i see a video explaining how the head fits into a cube, and how that translates into drawing other items in a cube.  Any more examples you would like to show, i will happily watch! Cant get enough of that!

best video on the subject, lookinf forward to start practicing tomorrow

You explain this very, very well. Thank you for making the usefulness of box shapes so clear. The only thing I'd add, is that that "x" you draw across the box finds the center of any box in perspective. So, you can draw something side-on and use exes to find where parts land on the box, then turn the box in perspective and place the features correctly using the exes. Thank you for the terrific video.

5:58 i see what you did there with the wording "Unconfortable" and telling people to do that challenge. :D

Your videos are a joy to watch, man. I'll try learn to draw for at least 2 months and decide if my progress was meaningful enough for me to keep going or not so i hope i come back to your videos in month 3.

Probably the most helpful drawing tutorial for me at least. I've been in the process of drawing boxes but just completely stumped on how to actually use them, a lot of art tutorials just re-explain how to draw them and then just start making stuff with no deeper explanation so I've often just turned to ignoring them. Really great breakdown of how to actually translate this skill

One of the most helpful box drawing / perspective videos that I’ve seen. So many lightbulb moments for me. Thank you!

Whoaaaa!!!!!! This is one of the best drawing advice videos i have EVER SEEN!!!! i absolutely gotta try this!!! And i am instantly subscribing!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS IS GENIUS!

I‘d like to thank you for your clear and actual explanatory videos of the essentials, there’s too many „tutorials“ telling you to just keep practicing the basics, but never even saying what those basics are. You’ve helped bring back the passion I had for art as a young kid. However I still struggle with something many probably won’t relate too, I got aphantasia so it is really hard for me to see the imagine of a car and get an idea how said car would look like from another perspective. It’s not even full fantasy drawings that are problematic for me, I have it easier drawing dragons than realistically converting a reference pose into the actual pose I want. Please let me know if anybody got tipps
