For the first time, a media outlet had exclusive access to the Anápolis Air Base in Goiás to show in detail the most modern fighter jet of the Brazilian Air Force: the Saab F-39 Gripen.

O Gripen foi projetado dentro do conceito de "guerra centrada em redes", ou seja, cada aeronave é um "nó de informações / de comunicações", servindo tanto de retransmissor de dados, quanto de coletor de informações com seus sensores. Aquilo que os sensores captam nos 360 graus ao redor dele é compartilhada essa informação com todos os demais que estejam dentro da mesma rede dele (frequência, criptografia, etc).
Notar a ênfase que o piloto mencionou: para as arenas ar-ar e ar-solo. Como foi a FAB que adquiriu a aeronave, praticamente nada da arena ar-superfície (missões antinavio, por exemplo) foi citado, e devido ao Gripen ter sido projetado pela Suécia, ele também contempla essa arena, e dentre os armamentos antinavio disponíveis, tem o excelente míssil RBS15 (extremamente compacto para um míssil antinavio, mas ele possui inclusive a possibilidade de realizar desvios bem amplos em rota, como se fosse um míssil de cruzeiro, para atacar o alvo, e se for disparado em salvas, vários mísseis podem vir de diversas direções ao mesmo tempo atacando o alvo, o que sobrecarrega as defesas dele).
Pela "rádio fofoca", aparentemente será testada a integração do míssil antinavio brasileiro MANSUP no Gripen em um futuro próximo, e ISSO é a principal vantagem da transferência de tecnologia... Não precisamos pedir autorização para NINGUÉM para realizar modificações, atualizações, empregar novos armamentos, integrar novas tecnologias que deverão surgir nos próximos 20, 30, 40 ou 50 anos.
Quando houveram os Projetos F-X e F-X2 e suas diversas e intermináveis iterações, eu fiquei torcendo pelo Gripen, e obviamente fiquei muito feliz por ter sido ele o vencedor.
Essa transferência de tecnologia, somada a nossa maestria em produzir aeronaves, nos dará um salto quântico gigantesco na aviação.
