Okay my out of pocket conspiracy theory is that Ru made this to bury the Trans/Train flag thing

The most iconic part of the movie is Rupaul at the premiere party forgetting the director’s name before bringing him out.

Most expensive Maxi Challenge ever...

I reject casual AI. Not watching this movie

My favorite moment of this film's press tour was when Rupaul looked at Ginger Minj right in the face and asked if she had done the brackets, while Ginger was getting so much hate from winning AS10. Ru was completely clueless 😂😂

Jujubee is stellar IN WHATEVER she's in (we don't talk about queen of the universe) and Brooke's acting was amazing

I would've watched this movie and Supergirl if not for the AI use. We, WE, never have to accept AI.

It's like an hour and a half long acting challenge I'll say that !

'Oh that's a big drag family!' 'Very good' 😭❤

Wait the AAA girl thing explains why Courtney is blacklisted over one tiny tweet.

Even if AI is used in a ✨️queer✨️ way, I'll never support it. It's like a parasite

I would have gone to watch it in theaters but AI is not something I can ever get behind.

AI was absolutely used in the movie. I specifically noticed some of the graphics that appeared on characters phones/ screens were AI generated

I think the only failure of the movie that is also most likely caused by the AI usage is the TRAIN. It does not have a consistent design which is one of the main reasons most of the outside shots of the train have people suspecting AI usage. The train should be an iconic part of the movie, but almost every time we see the train it cuts away super fast as if the movie is embarrassed (probably because of the AI). I think giving VFX artists the time and resources to model the train properly and give it a consistent look would've gone a long way, even if it ended up looking like a video game cut scene. On some of the posters they also used a bland,  Canva looking cartoon version of the train where the 3D render would've made a lot more sense. Merchandising also would've worked better, especially because the train company logos also look bad and boring (or also AI generated). With the VFX companies being credited also openly being "AI companies", I do think it's completely fair to say they didn't care about the VFX visuals and thought they could get away with cutting a lot of the work because it wasn't important to them.
I do recommend the movie, everything else about it is a lovely good time. It's not a bad movie, but honestly a mess of bad marketing decisions.

i saw the pre-screening here in the uk. I went in there with low expectations and a gummie and had myself a gay ol time.

As a queer person I’m glad that drag race exists, but as a creative it pisses me off when WOW presents is pushing AI.

AI usage for image generation is nothing new but seeing artists and creatives using it for the final product is so disappointing. There’s other alternatives to using AI such as bouncing ideas with other drag artists, or making moodboards and what not.

Idk I’m just frustrated.

Every second of AI threw me from the story and made me roll my eyes. The train is never the same from establishing shot to establishing shot, all of which are AI. Any clip of the train itself is AI and it's OBVIOUS and looks terrible.

Brian Jordan Alvarez has a lot of icky allegations and rumours around him, allegedly he SA'd someone on camera in 2016 so do NOT feel bad about critiquing his performance, not only was he bad in the movie but he's bad IRL

legendary refresh pull

Unfortunately for many folk, for very good reason, Generative Ai is a red line that should not be crossed, no matter who else is apart of the movie.

You simply can't give a pass because 'some people you like made it' because thats just giving Ai a foot in the door. There are plenty of options to make the shots they used Ai for. It's taking jobs away from people who need it. A queer film should be, at its core, made by marginalised and queer folk who value each others skill and work. Not a LLM by rich white cis straight men.
