Survival food, dried chicken sausage — one boneless thigh turned into a dense, dried meat snack that needs no fridge and no freezer. For as long as there have been armies, soldiers have marched for months on dried meat exactly like this — light, packed with protein, and able to ride in a pack for days in the field. In this video I'm making it from scratch with nothing but a blender and an oven.

One chicken thigh, onion, carrot, garlic, salt and pepper — blended into a paste, piped into thin sausages and slow-dried at low heat until they firm up. This isn't just drying: it's fully cooking the poultry through and dehydrating it at the same time, the way jerky has been made for centuries. Here's the thing most people get wrong — it's the carrots. And the thickness of the sausages changes everything about how they turn out. I'll show you exactly why.

I'll walk you through the whole process step by step — why boneless thigh beats any lean cut, why the salt is what pulls the moisture out, how thick to pipe them so they dry evenly instead of staying raw in the middle, and exactly how to store them so they last without a fridge.

Would you carry these in your own pack? Tell me in the comments. At the end I'll break down the nutrition — protein, B12 and iron from the meat, beta-carotene from the carrot, vitamin C and natural antibacterial punch from the onion and garlic. This is the same logic soldiers used to keep real food on them when there was no fridge for miles — a trick passed down long before refrigerators existed.

This is not a trendy snack. This is a system. One afternoon gives you a batch of dried meat sausages — ready for the trail, the pack, or the day everything goes wrong.

If we hit 500 likes I'll film the next one — a long-storage survival ration using everything left over from this batch.
