L vs. Epstein 🧠 Jane vs. Hannibal 🤫 What’s next, Doakes vs. Diddy? 💀

Jane: "What was this dish made of again?"
Hannibal: "She was a cow😏"
Jane, whispering to Lisbon: "This is clearly human meat. Arrest him"

Jane would find out Hannibal is the killer quickly, but Hannibal would never let Jane find any proof. Jane would eventually be dinner

For me, Hannibal was sometimes too obvious and sassy. Someone like Jane would read him easily even before Will could've. Will was kinda intrigued and related with Hannibal and that I think delayed him. Now, maybe Jane would've had trouble proving this just like Will, allowing Hannibal to take the offensive

All these what ifs are funny because putting just Jane against a criminal is handicapping him, he operates with the belief that Lisbon, Cho, Rigsby or Van Pelt will have his back

I think Jane would be well aware that Hannibal would be able to physically best him and make sure that whatever test/trick/method he employs does not involve physical risk to himself.  The fact that Hannibal is also super controlled in his words and mannerisms would mean that ANY flicker would stand out whilst against the everyday person, who is not so rigid in posture and vocabulary, may be ignored as just regular variations.

Jane would get Hannibal. Unlike with other killers, Jane would recognise that Hannibal is also one of the most dangerous people he’s ever met. So he would be a lot more careful and alert after he would start to probe Hannibal.

If Jane’s team is there then Hannibal goes down with a death on Jane’s side being very unlikely.

i rly liked this video, glad that you picked up on my suggestion.

also i myself believe that PJ would eventually be killed by Hannibal but no before leaving behind a clue on how they can catch Hannibal, resulting in Hannibal's arrest.

Jane's glazing is insane here. Hannibal would already sus Jane that he is suspecting him. He will profile him even before jane begin to.

HOLY LEGENDARY "Next" recommendation - unstoppable force vs immovable object

You all crazy, Hannibal would make Jane think he did all the murders

Hannibal might serve Jane a Red John Kabob.

now do will from hannibal vs red john(sherrif )
and thanks for addressing my suggestion and highly recommend watching 'Mind hunter' too ts is good .

I'm so glad I clicked on this! One of the most original and interesting videos I've seen in a while. I swear, 99% of video essays or media analysis on YouTube recently has been the same regurgitated and recycled points over and over again 😒 not this though! Lets go

Jane has always solved cases by getting the suspect to confess. Hannibal has no emotional levers to exploit—he is a psychopath—so he is immune to this technique. Jane might be certain of his guilt, but he couldn't prove it unless Hannibal made a mistake at the crime scene. However, given his meticulousness, I doubt that will happen.

On the other hand, Jane is a narcissist. A narcissist is actually highly reactive and emotional—and therefore manipulable. It doesn't matter whether or not you are aware of the manipulation; if I place the object of your desire right in front of you, you will be drawn to it, losing sight of the broader strategic picture and becoming predictable in the process.

Jane has two main weaknesses: the need to feel superior—specifically, more intelligent (typical of a narcissist), and the need for revenge by killing Red John. All of this makes him vulnerable.

His need to feel superior makes him predictable; you know he must be the one to unmask the suspect, he needs everyone to know he was the one who did it. He plays within the constraints of his own needs. He would never resort to tactics like planting a bug or using trackers to tail Hannibal; that would be like cheating. Naturally, he wouldn't kill Hannibal in cold blood—even if he were certain of his guilt and knew that killing him would save dozens of potential victims. He wants to win by his own rules.

Hannibal, on the other hand, is not bound by method; a psychopath is a robot like, goal oriented, with no need of external validation. if necessary, he goes straight to his objective, without any self-indulgent theatrics. Hannibal  has no interest in ostentatiously proving his superiority. Once he has finished analyzing Jane and playing games with him, he will grow bored; realizing that Jane could become an obstacle, he will find a quick, discreet way to kill him. He has no need to unmask him, so he won't waste time or limit his actions just to draw Jane out into the open.

Second weakness: when Jane knows he is close to catching Red John, he becomes imprudent, impulsive, and reckless.
He might not realize in time that he is the victim of a trap.
Hannibal could stage a fake Red John crime scene or plant false clues regarding John's whereabouts to lure Jane in and kill him, making everyone believe John was responsible. With Jane out of the way, no one would be intelligent enough to realize it was a setup and not the real John—and even if someone did figure it out, no one could trace the killing back to Hannibal.

I think Jane would struggle to read Hannibal beyond what Hannibal let him. Jane would 100% be able to tell something wasn't right but like the difference between reading two metaphorically mask wearing people, one where the reactions of the mask tells him something about the truth underneath, and the second where the nothing underneath is revealed by the mask on top.
The other disadvantage that Jane faces would be that he isn't as fascinating to Hannibal as Will Graham is, meaning that he would not be as reckless with Jane for two reasons. Firstly simply because less interesting means less desire to interact act. Secondly, and more dangerously, as Jane gets closer to finding the truth less interesting means less reason for Hannibal to risk leaving him alive.
Why do I say less interesting? because of the different ways Will and Jane's abilities work. Jane's ability is more academic, he has learned to read people and situations to understand why any given event is happening. Will Grahams ability however is nearly supernatural, instead of gaining understanding someone through calculation he understands them through complete empathy by feeling exactly what that person felt in that moment. That difference is what makes Will so intoxicatingly interesting to Hannibal. There are many people that can come to understand Hannibal, given time Jane would be able to, but Will is literally the only other person able to feel what it's like to be him.

Sadly I feel that if Hannibal dose feel cornered he would go for Lisbon and the team to shift Jane's focus and maybe manipulate/reach out (dependant on time line) a meeting with Red John.  He has done that sort of thing in the Series (Loved it!) and would bring his A+ game for Patrick. 🤠🤠

Jane has almost always planned ahead for seriously dangerous suspects, either removing or sabotaging their weapons, or even setting up his own weapons in advance as he did to take out Red John in the end with the hidden gun, etc. So considering how serious a threat we can assume he would fairly quickly determine Hannibal to be, he would most likely not go into this cocky or self-assured, but actually take the appropriate steps to ensure his own survival.
There are many fascinating scenarios for a "battle" like this, and things would shift massively depending on the moves each party would make leading up to the final confrontation; for instance, if Hannibal were to take someone like Lisbon hostage to goad Jane into walking into his lair, Jane would do so, as we've seen that the people he cares about, Lisbon most of all of course, are very much his Achilles' heel, and Hannibal would have zero hesitation in exploiting said vulnerability.

In summary, if Hannibal makes the first drastic move and gets Jane to walk into his trap, our favorite mentalist may well be cooked (quite literally in this particular instance, I'm afraid)
If Jane manages to plan things out and prepare fast enough, he has a more than solid chance to take Hannibal down, even if it comes down to him running away from a desperate and enraged Hannibal chasing after him with a butcher knife, finally made to snap by losing to Jane and thus having his belief of his own mental superiority shattered along with his ego, only for CBI/FBI forces to arrive at the last minute to save Jane's bacon and take Hannibal in.

If we take what I would call Jane at this "peak" though, giving him the same raw motivation and willingness to do anything it takes, including finish Hannibal off personally, making things PERSONAL for Jane? I would bet on Jane outplaying the cannibal ten times out of ten, constructing the most elaborate of plans complete with a fatal finish to bring an end to the monster, probably even choking him out with his bare hands as he did to RJ, for while Jane may not be naturally inclined toward physical confrontations, he is perfectly capable of channeling that inner darkness of his to do things against his better nature, to become a monster to destroy a greater one, especially if, as I said, we're taking Jane at his most obsessive, most driven, most focused, most vengeful, most merciless; against such raw, human will, even if his psychological brilliance may allow Hannibal to understand and even attempt to plan for it, he would ultimately fall due to his own twisted nature not being able to summon equivalent motivation. Humanity at its purest, overtaking the inhuman. Beautiful.

In my opinion, the outcome of a confrontation between Hannibal Lecter and Patrick Jane depends primarily on the world they are placed in.

The Mentalist follows a more traditional detective formula, while Hannibal presents a much darker and more psychologically realistic world. If the story takes place in Hannibal's universe, I believe Patrick Jane would not suspect Hannibal at first. He would try to see through Hannibal's mask, but Hannibal would already have profiled Jane and remain one step ahead.

If Jane eventually became suspicious, I do not think Hannibal would kill him. Instead, he would destroy him psychologically by murdering Teresa Lisbon and turning her death into one of his grotesque works of art. This would force Jane to relive the trauma of Red John and completely shatter his confidence.

In the end, Hannibal would leave Jane alive, continue pretending to be his friend, and slowly manipulate him until he ultimately lost the psychological battle.

A good comparison to Hannibal would be a more sophisticated san joaquin killer, he won’t have any ego regarding the murders and would be able to shelter his psychopathic/ cannibalistic behaviour with more ease. Definitely would take 2-3 seasons to close , would love to watch this show.
