The Autobots team of First Responders, the Protectobots are quick to come into action. Unlike the Rescue Bots, this team can combine to form the mighty, Defensor. But their origins are widely unknown to many and is the topic of this Transformers Discussion.

I feel like RescueBots would have been a good opportunity to give the Protectobots their own show.

I really dug their cameo in TF Devastation: "Protect and serve, Optimus. That's our job". - Defensor.

A group of Autobots that are there straight up to protect humans explains a lot of why even casualties are low during a battle

for having the least amount of spotlight from the original teams, they’re still my favorite combiner team

Man I forget the range of Peter Cullen's voice acting. Streetwise sounds nothing like Optimus or Ironhide.

I wish the protectobots were real and help us. At least they were awesome in the G1 cartoon.

The world needs to protectobots once again

If we ever needed a Transformers PSA in these current times, then the Protectobots are the Autobots we could use right now.

The Protectobots are, in my opinion, the best Autobot combiner team. They should have more toys and screentime.

Doing a video about the Protectobots is rather appropriate considering everything going on right now.

They’re my favorite combiner team, and they deserve more respect. 👍

I really like First Aid. I wish he was in more Transformers shows.

My origin for the protectobots is they are natives of Cybertron, and when the war started they would often have to respond to the disasters caused by the decepticons, and to stop the decepticons they joined the autobots.
And they would eventually join the earthbound autobots and scan emergency vehicles and the protectobots work in saving humans from decepticon attacks made the "Autobot-Human" alliance more possible.

"This did not set well with her father. Who released a hate plague on the universe."
Fine parenting that...
Love the video!

I remember a kid in my class acted out an origin for them. He had them as being rebuilt from the Autobots who were seen only once on the show. He said they got crushed and rebuilt.

Perfect timing for a Protectobots retrospective! (and fun fact: I've made the headcanon that the Protectobots' holomatter avatars are based on the human partners of the Rescue Bots)

The protectobots could have a more military alt-mode while then rescuebots could have a more civilian alt-mode.

As a G1 Fan, I always thought that Rescue Bots should've instead just been the "Protectobots" especially since it was hinted to be Canon with Transformers: Prime! Just replace Boulder with First Aid and add Groove to the team and BOOM: a whole series dedicated to our Autobot First Responders!
