Hi guys!

Today I'm finally swatching the colours in this super cute Schmincke Horadam limited edition watercolour palette collab with Hazel Soan.
I confess I first bought because of the adorable narrow box (I know, I'm easily impressed), but I was happy with the colour selection too! (with a few caveats; watch and see ;)).

I hope this video bring you some colour wherever you are, I certainly needed it to balance the grey rainy days we've been having in Dublin for the past week... but tell me: what do you think of the colour selection? Would you change or add any colour? let me know in the comments!

Nice swatching video! Thank you. Did you know that there is a video on yt in which Hazel Soan explains why she has certain colours on her palette, how she chose the ones in this palette, why there are so many blues and reds, how lightfast they are, etc? I found it very interesting. You will find it when you put 'An Interview with Hazel Soan on Watercolour Palette Management' with Studio 56 in the search bar.

Looks like a nice palette that makes for some beautiful mixes. I have an Akademie small palette and most of the colours from this selection, so might have some fun with that.

Beautiful set, i would change the pr83:1 for a payne's grey.... Love the greens this palet made!

stunning ... I like this praktical tin.
I have the akademie version by schmincke. contains also 12 pretty colors in a realy good quality and fit´s any pocket ... I know that my tiny palette is the because or inspiration, that hazel was creating this palette here with her own most useful colors ... you can looking for her artworks ... she like to work outdoor for painting any wild animals, like lions, elefants etc pp and all the natur around them in a stunning way ... she don´t need much green for her awesome art - but you can optional mixing with these colors many greens if you need or want ...
how this palette works in my opinion - pickup as your primary triade only one of the reds, one of the yellows and one of the blues ...
then look what you get at the end ... there are a lot of options and possibilities to create a artwork in harmony.

i'd really love to understand how you created that mixing palette. when do you use more of the one color and then again more of the other. maybe you can make a video about that with fewer colors. great video!

Thank you so much for the swatching! I'm really surprised...the greens available from this are pretty underwhelming. As much as I'd like to add neutral tint, I almost feel like a lemon yellow is also really needed (maybe subbed in for the aureolin hue because that and the Indian yellow are two rather orange/dark/dull yellows in my book). I'm game for a palette pushing me to mix more, but I would really prefer a fully swatched chart like you did to yield more variety in hue and tone!
