The actress who plays Alice has been remarkable this season. She is really the most interesting character now.

Your edited version shown here omitted the cutest part for me -- showing that it was Alice messing with Ted's chair the entire season!  So cute!  I DEMAND a season 5!

Diamond Dogs and Cat People are both David Bowie references.

Claudie, you are the Queen of reactors on this one! I have always looked forward most to your reactions and commentary on this show. Never disappointed; thanks!

"I could use the child labor" harkens back to Will and Henry...

The fact that Higgins knows about Nate’s baby tells me that they’ve stayed in touch.

Thank you for the laughs, the tears, the explanations... and now we wait for Seasons 5 and 6!!!

I think one of the things I like about this series is that it's very much about collateral help that happens when people are open about themselves. In just this episode, Alice telling Roy about lying about green beans results in trust being broken and not disappearing when you feel inadequate is what makes Ted decide not to lie to his son and not disappear. And Roy saying that life is about taking risks and that he deserves good things to happen is what makes Rebecca decide to propose to Mattijs. It happens over and over again. While the individual advice/lessons are good, I think the nicer thing is that sense that when we are open and not shamed into solitude for fear of judgment, it makes other people have a greater perspective of themselves, too.

Roy’s upped his impression game from season 1.

I like Alice of the Cat People not being in her own head so much. She's fun. 😂

The “Proceed” with the hands is chefs kiss!

"Don't disappear when you feel inadequate",  I think Alice both giving Roy advice but also talking about herself. At the start of the show Alice was struggling with feelings of inadequacy. She was always trying to hide her feelings because she was worried about what others think. Every time she smiled she would immediately stop before someone could catch a glimpse. Now she's completely willing to lean into silly things like dancing in front of Shannon and being the first of the "cat people".

We were all fooled by the HR call - immediately thinking it is work related, dum, dum, da , Hugo Riddles

I love that Nate and Jane's kid is named Athena, after "Taste of Athens."

For me, this wasn't a season finale, it felt more like the end of the entire treasured journey.    We're grounded in London as home, a self-demoted Ted is in his home now with the time and attention for Henry.    Rebecca kept the club family and formalized her husband and daughter family.    Roy's becoming a father and the manager where his destiny started.    Alice earned the role she hoped for.    And Mae got the legacy she intended for her boys and her team.    Everybody earned the changes they desired, knowingly or not.    A death, a baby, a promotion, a proposal, and a demotion, and they all seem like the finish line.    If this is all there is, then it's beautiful.    If there is a season five or more left to tell, then I'm concerned Jason and the team can keep doing this as well as Ted Lasso has become; the greatest comedic show I've ever seen.

Since the beginning of the series, it's always been Mae who has held the longest and deepest understanding of AFC Richmond.    She continuously, 'wisely,' described the history, she was friends with the owners, and most importantly, she owned the pub that was the heart of the fanbase.    Mae held a greater stake in the legacy of the Greyhounds than Rupert, or even Rebecca did.    And when Ted and Beard got there, Mae's constant presence was there to welcome and foster them into the club's legacy.    Nelson Road and the facilities were merely the workplace.    It was the Mae Green presence at the Crown and Anchor that was the true 'home' of AFC Richmond.    And even in death, Mae's will decides the club's ownership will remain in the hands of the remaining one who loves the club the most; Rebecca.

In this finale episode, Mae's parting words were earned and proper, so... Mae had to be the 'one' to speak at the 'end' of the Ted Lasso franchise. - - -

"When death comes like the hungry bear in autumn...
...when death comes and takes all the bright coins from his purse to buy me, and snaps the purse shut...
...when death comes like the measle pox...
...when death comes like an iceberg between the shoulder blades...
...I want to step through the door of curiosity, wondering...
...what's it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?"

"And therefore I look upon everything as a brotherhood and a sisterhood, and I look upon time as no more than an idea, and I consider eternity as another possibility...
...and I think of each life as a flower, as common as a field daisy, and as singular, and each name a comfortable music in the mouth...
...tending as all music does... toward silence.
...and each body a lion of courage...
...and something precious to the earth."

"When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. That I was the bridegroom taking the world into my arms....
...when it's over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular...
...when it's over, I don't want to find myself sighing, and frightened... or, full of argument...
...I don't want to end up simply having visited this world."

~ Mae Green

This one feels like a finale.

my theory is when Alice mentioned Inadequate think she was referring to herself..when she got injured playing the game of soccer she so loved  .she would push people away from her and wouldnt get close to anyone but since being with Ted & Beard she is opening up and getting closer to them and the team

Wouldn’t it also be the facility where Phoebe’s Mom works?

Great acting by Bec with Roy! 😁
