The post office hired second sight thinking they would not find any evidence against them.

Strange how these guys have good memories.

The post office sacked second sight, judge and anyone else who did not agree with them

As usual post office dragging out the time to give evidence to second sight.
This has been the post office way from the start. To prolong as much as possible. In the hope subpostmasters would give up and second sight , not have enough people to go through so much paperwork that would snow them under.
In the hope everyone would give up or will of sadly passed on. Which some people sadly have, with no justice for them

SS truly acted as reasonable persons in this inquiry questioning.

They had very decent answers because their honesty in their work were what would any reasonable and rational professional would do.

They truly did their best, even if they caused some errors but even that was still within the "reasonable" limit.

They didnt truly know the full story and were privy to much information even after asking for it.

If I were the juror in any criminal proceedings, I wouldnt even think of ever passing judgement on them given their testimonies.

Both Mr Henderson and Mr Warmington come across as fully credible witnesses. They clearly made mistakes themselves in the engagement, but I suspect this was simply down to the fact they were dealing with a customer in PO that made the right noises as the start, but had a deeply cynical and hostile attitude once issues started to be uncovered. In short, SS were clearly technically competent enough to do the prescribed task, but were out of their depth when it came to managing the politics of the situation they found themselves in - being relatively little people too. Had the PO employed one of the well known/major auditors, they would not have got away with stonewalling them, bullying and manipulating them in the same way as they appear to have done with SS. I can't help but wonder if this whole issue would have been exposed much more rapidly had SS not given the PO the gift regarding the lack of "systemic issues" in the interim report which Sir Alan Bates evidently predicted would be misused by the PO, and indeed was.  I am not clear why anyone with any legal understanding would put Gareth Jenkins forward as an "expert witnesss", when he is actually a professional witness to the fact and no more.

Bloody disgrace
