We're selling EVERYTHING! 😳 Our yard sale was the next step on our journey to a world trip! 🌎🚐

On September 5th and 6th, we held a yard sale in our own garden.

But why?

The yard sale wasn't just a weekend project for us. It's part of a much bigger plan: We want to sell our house, gradually reduce our possessions, and leave Germany in 2027 to travel the world with our family. 🌎🚐

Of course, a lot of things have to go. So we started decluttering and gathering everything we no longer need: dishes, household items, tools, toys, and much more.

💰 DAY 1 – DISAPPOINTMENT

Unfortunately, the first day didn't go as we had hoped. Not many people came, and consequently, our earnings were low.

Naturally, that was a bit of a letdown at first. We were prepared for the possibility that a yard sale might not go particularly well. So we didn't let that discourage us and just wanted to see what would happen.

💰 DAY 2 – MUCH BETTER!

On the second day, more people showed up, and the yard sale went much better.

In the end, we took in a total of €209.50. We were really happy about that! ❤️

At the same time, we realized: We still have an unbelievable amount of stuff left over. 😂

🛒 FLEA MARKET OR CLASSIFIED ADS?

This is where the comparison became interesting for us. Many of our items sell much better through classified ads than at a traditional flea market. There, we reach people who are specifically looking for certain items – and with us, things sell gradually.

Conversations with friends and acquaintances have also given us the impression that buying and selling habits have changed, and that traditional flea markets are less frequented, especially since the pandemic.

But is that really true?

🌎 OUR PATH TO A WORLD TRIP IN 2027

Our house sale is just one small step on a much bigger journey.

We want to sell our house, downsize our belongings, and leave Germany in 2027 to travel the world with our family.

Every item we sell means a little less stuff and another step towards freedom and adventure.

From our house sale to selling the house and decluttering, all the way to our world trip – we'll take you along for the ride. 🏡➡️🚐➡️🌎
