The White Album will be the craziest first listen you’ll ever have

Norwegian Wood was basically the first use of a sitar in western pop music

Rubber Soul one of John's finest moments. Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man, Girl and In My Life. Classics

I think Rubber Soul is where they really found their Identity as a band

In My Life is still in my playlist.  Such a deep song.  Makes me miss my dad.

You’re definitely right / this album was the  transition from sugary pop to “the Beatles” that defined music for the next decade.

Realize when they began the were very young and they grew up matured and blossomed musically and intellectually before our eyes! Speaking as a 74 year old Beatlemaniac

36:13 John Lennon asked George Martin for a 'Baroque' sounding piano for the song and George Martin wrote it but could not play it. They slowed the tape down to 1/2 speed and recorded it and when sped up to full speed it was an octave higher and EXACTLY what John wanted. They were so lucky to have George Martin to turn their ideas into magic.

80 hours in the studio over 13 sessions, this is literally the group letting the genie out of the bottle.

Great to see someone else appreciate the song Girl. It's a song that flies under most people's radar, but to me it's quintessential Lennon, one of my all time favourites. Melancholy, dreamy, cynical at times, philosophical ... but so simple and unpretentious. Just a beautiful song.

Enjoyed your commentary throughout. Always good to see new generations discovering (and being surprised by) the depth of talent these kids had.

Never clicked on a video faster than this

'In my life" was our First Dance at our Wedding Reception <3  Married 33 years now <3 :-)

This is my favourite Beatles album. Got a second pressing vinyl from the 70s that sounds incredible. What an album

Paul mccartneys harmonies are just the best fucking thing on earth and this album blesses us with loads of it

Maybe my favorite album!  I love all Beatles tunes, but this time period ,and earlier on, captures the true spirit of the group to me.  I never tire of these songs....

I skipped straight to the end to see how you reacted to the lyrics to Run For Your Life 😂😂. Back to the start to watch properly now.

Rubber Soul singles were DAY TRIPPER & WE CAN WORK IT OUT, both absolute BANGERS!

My sweet mother(I miss her so) always bought me the latest Beatles LP. I was only 10 when this one came out, and totally engulfed in The Beatles. I just sat with this album, listening and staring at their faces!

They had some interesting and more evolved songs on 'Help', too. '65 was the year they expanded musically.
