Does anyone else fall asleep to Jrose?

"I lost to Abra" genuinely had not even imagined a world where this was possible tbh

"I lost to abra"  New sentence just dropped.

Can you Beat Pokemon FireRed with Just Wobbuffet?

^^ no, because as is proven at @03:55 Jrose is playing LeafGreen.

Fun fact, the berries in FRLG actually do respawn! It's based on number of steps taken since there's no in-game clock.

"That wasn't foreshadowing, this run just sucks" is such a great line hahaha

That's a brutal flex on your rival. He came at you with everything, and you only had a punching bag. He lost.

When it comes to the idea of "Using Struggle on Wobbuffet goes against the spirit of the run", my response is: "The Spirit of the run is to win with Wobbuffet. It can't use or learn any TM's so allowing the use of an incredibly tedious, and inefficient, version of Take Down (aka, Struggle) is perfectly valid because using Wobbuffet is already in the spirit of the run."

We 1. Don't need a run that is potentially as bad as, or as frustrating as, the Weedle only Run, and 2. We don't need to add arbitrary rules like "No using Struggle!" to a run that's already as painful as this run was (and at least with the inclusion of Struggle Strats there's some strategic variety unlike the other absurdly tedious challenges like Weedle).

The title: FireRed
The game: LeafGreen

My eight year old asked the other day if any of the main games could be beaten with just a Wobbuffet. I told him I have no idea because I'm not foolish enough to try it. Luckily Jrose is here with the answer...

If you talk to Giovanni after defeating his gym he will leave, use the item finder where he stood and you get the macho brace. Great item placement in FRLG

Fun fact: Wobbuffet is actually the reason for the change to Struggle's mechanics, because Wobbuffet vs. Wobbuffet could cause an endless battle where neither does enough with Struggle to outpace Leftovers recovery, and neither could switch out because of Shadow Tag.

For the record, the reason why the AI was spamming Withdraw and Sand Attack I believe is because in gen 3 the trainer AI has them favour using stat boosting moves while they're at full HP. It's meant to make them try and set up once, you hit them, and then they attack, but since you can't damage them without them attacking you, they'll be at full HP and thus more likely to use setup moves for multiple turns.

JRose don't do it in Platinum.   As a friend.  No self-sabotaging behavior.

Anyone complaining about Struggle can honestly play their own Wobuffet solo without using Struggle. Your run, your rules.

Its crazy to see a Pokemon reach 500+ hp. Love to see him in diamond and pearl against close combat

You should have been able to use the wynaut moves. Encore would have been a game changer for this run. Wouldn't have even been an impossible challenge with encore

Jrose, I don't think anyone is actually complaining about the struggle strategy.  If anyone were trying to argue that the struggle strategy is against the spirit of Wobbuffet, the answer to them is just no, Wobbuffet cannot solo the game that way.  You showed that it can't do anything to the Oddish that doesn't know any attacking moves without struggling.

Wobbuffet was the real trainer all along. Making JRose use frustration and struggle.
