Jonathan was found some weeks after this aired, december 11th on the 3 months mark  2001 and Lee and Brendan got to carry him out by firefighter tradition. Surprisingly he was one of the few folks whose body was found mostly intact; being able to find him and bury him was an big step in mourning his loss.

I was 14 on 9/11 a freshman at great neck north high school (Jon’s high school). I remember I collected money from my class mates and donated it to his family. It was a couple hundred dollars at the time but I didn’t know how else I could help his family. His father seems like a great guy.

Just 1 of so many sad stories.

Rip to all who lost their lives on that terrible day and to those who still continue to pass because of the exposure and injuries from 9/11

I'll never forget visiting the 9/11 Tribute Museum before deploying overseas and having the honor of getting the tour from Mr Lee Ielpi himself. The part when we get to see Jonathan's gear and his dad talking about him, will forever be in my memory. 343 Never Forget!

Thank you so much for sharing this. God bless the Ielpi family.

I googled to see if Andrew became a firefighter. Instead he’s been arrested multiple times. Unfortunate to see how this tragedy impacted him.

Dear friend it’s hard to believe that twenty five years have past. I happened to find this video, what a great remembrance to a great young man. Hope your well, 178 is still may favorite. Like to hear from you. B W.

I’m heartbroken for these guys. Seem like real great human beings.

You will never be forgotten Johnny
