Hey guys! Today I'm taking you to unlock a hidden gem in Tengchong – Qiluo Ancient Town. Quieter than Heshun, even Xu Xiake stayed here for seven days! A true "treasure trove on the frontier" 🔥
At 5 AM, I was "kidnapped" by a mysterious aroma to the morning market in Qiluo Ancient Town, Tengchong, to film the local delicacies.
I filmed in detail the process of making the layered, cloud-like crispy buns – each bite melts in your mouth; I filmed the "Great Savior" that even the emperor found irresistible – yes, the Yongli Emperor who fled!; crispy fried pumpkin blossoms, tender on the inside; stir-fried palm leaves with a bittersweet aftertaste; and the 600-year-old roasted pork rice noodles – the sizzling sound of the roasted meat was the perfect alarm clock. I also filmed three rice noodle shops in the ancient town, the soft, fluffy glutinous rice coated with peanut crumbs, and the sweet and sour rose vinegar drink – one sip and it felt like drinking the spring breeze of Gaoligong Mountain, even your breath smelled of flowers! 🌿
This is more than just a morning market; it's a living museum at the foot of Gaoligong Mountain. The carvings in the old houses, the flowing water in the temples, and the bustling atmosphere of the market reveal the secrets of the caravan trade. Every bite is history, every flavor is human touch. The aroma of the food and 600 years of cultural heritage, the gentleness and deliciousness of Qiluo, make it worth a special trip!
