The father’s speech at the end! When the father says I don’t think she knows he’s referring to himself.

As someone who grew up during this time and experienced relationships like this, the movie gutted me. I thought about it for months. It took me two years to be able to watch it again. The dad's speech is a masterpiece, and a masterclass on how to be a great father.

This was Timmy’s best movie. Best. Movie.

would love you guys to react to moonlight! its another lgbtq movie that specifically focuses on the black community (also would love if cojo was included in the reaction bcs i feel like he would really vibe with it, its got a very real and authentic feel just like this one)

the iconic AIDS activist slogan of the time, "Silence = Death," resonates in quite a few ways indeed

The monologue between Elio and his Dad is one of my favorite in any film.  I wish you could have shown it in its entirety.  It’s beautiful.

Elio staring into the fire at the end, crying but also showing a little smile - learning from the lesson his dad taught him. I love this film.

One of the most beautiful movies ever made.

The amount of times y’all called it an apricot during the infamous Peach scene is crazy 💀

I have "to speak or to die" tattooed. i love this movie so muchhhh

This was my first intro to Timmy C and I fell in love.  His emotions and acting was so fantastic. He has not let us down yet.

As a senior who came out in the mid-80's, I appreciate the thoughtful commentary. Not one slur or smirk, truly warms my heart - thank you!

You are correct. Ancient Greek lovers called each other by their own names including the symposium where men argued about who sat next to the cutest guy and then made speeches about love

The song is "Love My Way" by the Psychedelic Furs, it is pretty iconic if you were around in the early 80's.

This film was supposed to have a sequel, since with the success of the book, the author decided to write a sequel in 2019 where Elio and Oliver reunite and get back together. Unfortunately, the film was never released due to the controversy surrounding actor Armie Hammer and also because Timothée Chalamet was busy with Dune.

Okay I will give this movie props for using my man Sufjan Steven's music.

This is so sweet and sad at the same time.

I like how protective Matthew was of the French girl's feelings in this whole triangle.

25:04 - Same sex "activity" has been legal nationwide in Italy since 1890!  And the legal age of consent is 14 (if they have an age difference of 3 years or less).  Great reaction guys.
