Someone commented on my last video that I'd assumed everyone already knows how to set the camera up. Which was fair. I'd skipped straight past it.

So this one starts further back. And it all comes down to a single idea: put the camera where a friend would sit. Once you've got that, the height sorts itself out, so does the distance, so does which lens you use and where you look.

There's also the thing that goes wrong the moment your eyeline drifts, why buying a light usually makes it worse, and a trick with a stone that means you'll be framed correctly on every single take.

Everything here is done on a phone, a tripod and a mic. Nothing else.
