This is a reflection on the growth of my son from birth to 1.5 years old, after he was diagnosed with "mild developmental delay" in a developmental assessment at 1 year and 2 months old.

I had been worried about my son's development since he was about 8 months old, and finally, we reached his 1.5-year-old checkup.

He had started therapy and daycare, and I could see some gradual progress, but the questionnaire was full of "X" marks.

I was so surprised to see what other children could already do! 💦

During the checkup, a casual remark from the public health nurse really hit home... I cried.
