First!!

Redcliffe tends to be most people’s first stop.

You can go in debt???? I’ve played through this game maybe 6 times and I never knew that HAHAHA

"Morrigan disapproves (...) I'll give her a necklace, she'll feel better" - Yeah, pretty much, you can totally just buy your companions approval and I find it both funny, and encouraging to actually do/say what you want instead of trying to please them 😅

Fun fact of today:
Remember when Shale told you that her previous master shortened her with a chisel because she won't fit through doors? That was a meta-commentary from the developers, since her original golem model was indeed too big to fit through most doors in the game. So they had to make her model smaller and came up with in-world excuse for that

I'm impressed that you made it through the siege. It is insane how many undead there are!

Honestly the proving fights are
Level amd gear checks so you can handle some of the fights coming up. Its a dragon age thing in all the games

Yeah, I forgot how punishing is Orzammar at the beggining. But that first random combat you did was really good. Switching characters, micromanaging, good stuff, Chris. 💪

Yes! I caught up just in time. Loving this series.

People in the comments - please don't spoil things or encourage Chris to spoil things for himself by highlighting conversations that could have (but did not) happen. Nothing was "missed" in this episode, and there is no bug or glitch. The game knows how to compensate for events that did not happen by adding different events later (you can Google the details yourself), and Chris' experience will not be any the less for it for having a different timeline. Please just let his experience be his own, even if that means he learns and experiences things in a different order. Just a humble plea.

Hah, I remember my very first visit to Redcliff Village. I was so scared to go forward the quests there, because it sounded so scary to me then. Now, after years and multiple playthroughs later I quite like the battle in Redcliff. 😄

I’m surprised he didn’t recognize Zaeed’s VA when he met Murdock😂 such a distinct voice imo

If you want to have more money I would avoid buying basic equipment from overpriced vendors, you're as likely to find a piece of chainmail on a wolf as you are to find a 1 gold + starter item

Ah Redcliffe my very first stop after Lothering. I played a human noble. So I figured it made the most sense to start with a human ally.

Big mistake. With my minimal understanding of the combat and fledgling experience. I got rinsed and everyone died. My only saving grace was that I had specked Morrigian into some healing ( yes I know, but first playthrough).

Throw in some savescumming. Boom I was relishing in the success of keeping everyone alive. It felt good even with the reloads because damn did I struggle.

Just wanted to share after seeing the whole town die. I know the feeling.

Don't feel bad for changing the quest once you discover that you can't get anywhere at the moment. It actually is designed that way, especially on harder difficulties. You can basically take a look on the different locations and then decide which to approach first. Some might lock you in the quest after a certain point of commitment, others actually need you to find something or someone elsewhere if i remember right.
You tried hard last episode and learned a lot. But just as a little reminder for fighting hard enemies with a lot of health: Try to make use of the spelleffect combinations, it can really turn the tide of rough battles. As an example: Let morrigan freeze a tough enemy and then order shale to shatter the ice with brute force is a nice combination that really does more damage. And feel free to explore other combinations, a lot of which are hidden and have to be discovered.

Damn i love this game

Watch the Sacred Ashes trailer when you do that quest, you will like it.

If you were able to keep every single defender of Redcliffe alive, you'd have gotten a special award and a much better ending speech by Teagan. Just something to keep in mind if you replay this game :)

Well, what can I say, it’s called REDcliff for a reason lol

If you're a Mayor, I feel like having that strong a voice is a huge benefit. Also, I'm glad you went to a more appropriate-level area, so that you can truly enjoy the game. I have no idea why your got some weird resurrection glitch twice in Redcliffe, though. I've never seen that before! Nor did I know it was possible to end up in debt in the game. I laughed so hard at that glitch in the store, when your money didn't go up. I imagined a full playthrough where you couldn't earn a single silver. Never mind hard mode, THAT would be extreme nightmare difficulty.
