The first week I got my Honda silverwing it was its 2005 and only had four thousand miles I drove it all the way from Florida to in three days 500 miles a day and it was pretty comfortable
I happily own a 2010 Silverwing. I see no cons at all. I love this scooter sooo much! Rode solo 589 miles in one day. No issues at all. Very comfortable with a backrest! :)
Here is a big tip: When you don't understand something... Don't Explain It On The Internet ! 1. All Hondas rev high at highway speeds. They are made to do it that way, and they do it forever. It is not a chevrolet. 2. The bike can easily cruise at 80 mph. Lots of guys do it. This is NOT a technical limitation.. it is just your preference. 3. In 2003 45-50 mpg at highway speeds was not unusual for a heavy 600 cc bike. 4. The technical reasons for lower gas mileage are: the centrifugal clutch, wind resistance, weight, and smaller tires. Many riders abuse the clutch/transmission with jack rabbit starts, and high throttle settings before the clutch has locked up ( about 2500 rpm). 5. This is a high tech, highly reliable engine, but the silverwing riders tend to be "less than knowledgeable".
I have a 2006 with a 600 and I just replaced my rollers with sliders and put a new belt on and now the torque is amazing on it! Gets decent MPG as well.
my first one was a 2009 and like a idiot i sold it. and it took me another 4 years to find another one i wanted with out one million miles on it. and i found a 2012 400 miles one way with 109 miles on it. and i went and got it. and let me tell you ITS NOT FORSALE.
I have a 2003 Honda silverwing 600 and it's a comfortable bike to ride in city or back roads. If you get above 70-75 mph it seems like it's getting wound up. It still gets at least 50 mpg in any riding. It looks just like the one on this video, but it has nicer wind screen.
My roommate had one ,,I moved and he let it sit for 2 years ,, he called said if I wanted it too come get it ,,, I went it had flat tires put a new battery gas in it started right up ,, I had upgraded the rollers in the clutch ,, gave it much better pickup .. cruises at 75 mph
My 2010 400 FJS Silverwing is now 16 years old, and as I lived abroad for 13 of those years, has just clocked 6,000kms on the speedo. Is fantastic to ride, super comfortable tow up, and heaps of storage.
It's 2026... Not sure Why YouTube's algorithm "recommends" viewing this awesome yet simply done video (demmit! you didn't have to!) The Honda Silverwing Maxi Scooter, which has been phased out ages ago?π Demmit! Old fart Livin under a rock sucks!π₯΄ For now, might as well start lookin for one.πππ» (Edit) Well... wish me luck... here i go... Demmit! Where's my super suit (wheel chair)?π₯΄
