In this clip Waddy Wachtel shares a really funny story (circa early 1970's) about his first meeting with Warren Zevon during a time that Warren was the band leader for The Everly Brothers and Waddy was auditioning to play guitar in the Everly's band. While their relationship began with some humorous contention their future musical partnership become legendary. Wait for the punchline story at the end!

The guests include Waddy Wachtel who produced and co-wrote on the albums Excitable Boy, The Envoy, Mr. Bad Example and whose distinctive guitar can be heard on these and other albums throughout Zevon's career; Jorge Calderón, one of Warrens closest friends and career long co-writers (Veracruz, Jungle Work, Keep Me In Your Heart) as well as the producer of Zevon’s grammy winning final album - The Wind (which will be a focus of Part 2 in this series); and Bob Glaub, legendary touring and session bass player who can be heard all over Warrens Self Titled album, Excitable Boy, The Envoy and Mr. Bad Example.
