Back in the early 2000s we were still starved for representation and this movie really hit the jackpot. Saw it in XY magazine - wish the main characters romance was a little more fleshed out, but the overall characters are well realized and the music is excellent. Great voices, a dream like atmosphere and several moving peaks.
And of course, Jonathan being able to tell Timothy he really did like him the whole time caps the whole thing off perfectly.

A really enjoyable movie, and you don't even have to be a Shakespeare fan to like it.

An absolutely beautiful movie based on a plotline revolving around William Shakespeare's "A Midsummers Night Dream". The cast was excellently chosen, the script magical, and the characters so breathtakingly engaging in an eclectic manner. Ten out of 10 stars for this awesome production.

Oh my gosh, I saw this years ago and fell in love with it. It's just such a beautiful and imaginative playing around with A Midsummer Night's Dream. Back when I saw it, I couldn't find a way to get a copy (I think the only way to get a copy back then was buying a library copy or something equally well beyond my budget). I'm having a really hard time lately and I'm so glad this movie is up - it's just as wonderful as I remember, and the soundtrack... I'm obsessed with the soundtrack. It's beautiful and haunting and very, very soothing. Thank you so much for sharing this. Thank you to all the cast members and crew, if they see this, for telling such a wonderful story.
PS - this is also the movie that introduced me to Mika, so, you know. It's pretty much just a perfect movie.

I absolutely love this movie, I can come back and rewatch this over and over again, not just the movie but also the soundtrack as well

Literally one of my favorite movies I've ever watched in my whole life. I think I've watched this 30 to 50 times and I will watch it 30 to 50 more for sure. I don't even have words to describe how grateful I am for its existence. I feel the music so deeply. Almost the whole soundtrack is on my "sing" playlist

This movie is in my top 3 faves of all time! I am glad that other people feel the same way too.

Glad to see Jonathon stayed with Timothy and not his toxic ex.

You know if you asked me to watch a Shakespeare adaptation I would normally just yawn. Not because I find Shakespeare's work boring, but because its old and repetitive. Not this film though, it took Shakespeare and modernized it in a truly amazing and beautiful way! The acting is superb, the choreography is perfect and incredibly well done, and I love watching young people bring to life old understandings that matter and make them fun, interesting and unique. BIG BRAVO!!!

This is such a creative project and deals with so many aspects of gay and straight culture in very interesting ways. I still struggle with Shakespeare's language, though I did discover in singing a couple of songs based upon his texts how powerful the poetry can be. Thanks for creating this. I really can understand this phrase: "My legs can keep no peace with my desires." I think it takes patience and reflection to understand poetry, especially Shakespeare.

Didn't know this had been released in the past but nevermind. Loved it! THIS is a movie to watch many times over and share with friends. Grab the popcorn. Great performances from every actor. The lead's got serious acting & vocal chops (wow). Great script. Storyline cleverly true to the actual play, especially the role & trickery of the playful 'Puck'. Well done. ;)

I saw this years ago, around the time it was released. Absolutely ridiculous and fascinating at the same time. Max was adorable. 😍
