This video features a stroll around Tokuyama Station, the central station of Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Shunan City has a population of approximately 129,000. It's neither the prefectural capital nor the largest city in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Despite this, the energy and prosperity around the station exceeded expectations.
Furthermore, it's a city with impressive capabilities, as the Shinkansen "Nozomi" actually stops there.
And, for some reason, there were many Tokyo place names! (laughs)
We introduce these in the video.
We filmed a stroll around the town near Tokuyama Station, as well as local soul food and beautiful scenery such as factory night views!

特に徳山は戦前から全国でも主要な工業都市だったし、今でも一事業所当たりの製品出荷額は全国一
かつてのアーケードは人が多すぎて常に肩がぶつかるぐらい賑わっていた
しかし９０年代以降かなり廃れて駅ビルも廃墟と化していたが、再開発が成功し、どん底よりかは人が再び集まるようになった
今後は少子高齢化と人口減少で更に厳しくなると思うが、何とか粘ってほしい
けれど街の作りは便利に出来ているのでまた発展して欲しいなあ❤
私は周南市の近くに住んでいるがもう３年くらい周南市には行っていない下松で事が足りてしまう、昔のような繁栄した徳山市に戻ることはできるのだろうか。
数ヶ月滞在するので、徳山情報として勉強になりました。ありがとうございます!
山口県第四の都市ですね。
周南の徳山は新宿、銀座、代々木公園など東京の地名が多いですよ！
隣接する下松、光合わせて実質20万規模の都市です。テレビ局もあるし、人口以上に栄えてる街のイメージです。
下松市（周南市の隣接）に居を構えてやがて３０年。
徳山市（現周南市）が初めての勤務先だったのでとても思い出があります。
今は下関で単身赴任中だけど、自宅に戻ったら妻と周南の「ぞうすい赤鬼」を食べてみたいと思います。
地元じゃない人から教えてもらうのもいいもんですね。
意外と地元でも知らない名店がたくさんありそうですね。
私が勤めていた頃からくらべると、徳山駅前の図書館やトクヤマデッキ等かなり様変わりしましたね。
平成の中期辺りは活気がなくちょっと衰退気味だったんですけど、今は活気を取り戻したような気がします。

その時は合併前で徳山市でした。
駅前の風景は変わりましたね😅
戦時中徳山は度重なる空襲に遭い焼け野原になりました。
その後の区画整理の時に街が元気になるように東京の地名をつけたのだそうです。前のみなみ銀座にはニチイ、映画館、近鉄松下百貨店、ダイエー（後にトポス）、鳳鳴館（本屋）、スズヤ楽器店、等など賑わってました。
日本有数の工場地帯もあり今も徳山は元気がある街と言わせてください😅🙏
徳山へ来てくれてありがとうございました。
