In this video I revisit a song by Sabaton that I've already heard once before on Roadie Reactions, but so many of you requested that I check out this Animated Story Video that I feel I had to do it... And I'm glad I did! This video really brings out the best of the Night Witches story, and definitely brings out some emotion as well!

Hey Tank, just want to say a huge thank you for the review and all the love. For us it makes all the hard work pay off when we see a reaction like this as well as the shout out for our other videos. Thank you !

my grandfather was a russian pilot, and he respected those women so much he refused to fly in the victory parade out of respect for them, he even has a tattoo which translated says "fallen daughters of the motherland, i salute you"

Imagine flying at night, no night vision not even a flashlight. then having to cut your engine to remain silent, gliding to your target, dropping your bombs, then having to almost climb out of your plane to manually restart your engine with no guarantee it would start up again to fly away. while bullets sprayed randomly into the air.

these ladies had balls of steel

Proud to say my great grandmother was part of these amazing women. 🇺🇦

Most metalheads don't realize why Sabaton is so popular-- IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STORIES!

Tank, their commissioner, Evdokia Rachkevich, was able to got her PhD on aircraft engineering after the war and taught students at the university.

I'm Russian and I'm not the type to get emotional but this ine hits me especially hard and I find myself teary-eyed and choked up everytime I watch this I'm super proud of our brave women when germans overan soviet union and slaughter millions of men they stood up and joined the men in this fight, there were 800 000 women who fought for the Soviet Union that ranged from infantry to tankers pilots snipers.. every combat role there is I firmly belive that there is no way we could've won this fight without these courageous women. And I'm glad and thankful to Sabaton for honoring they're memory and telling the world about them they deserve to live forever in our hearts.

I think what gets me the most is how the Night Witches Commisar visited every spot where one of her pilots was shot down. That is some serious dedication to your unit, you can't but admire it and get emotional

Dude, I always cry when watching this video. There is this sense of pride and respect for that epic amount of valor and it's just moving.

A cousin of mine actually gives her students sabaton playlists as part of their history education. She uses the songs as openings/introductions to chapters and themes of history.

Why it is hitting emotionally? You are a solid human being with a big heart. Being a daddy does help ;)

Imagine flying in pitch black with no illumination or instrumentation at tree top level using the stars & compass to navigate in a ww1 canvas & wood plane & no parachute either carrying 800 pounds of bombs spotting your target, cutting your engine and diving in & dropping your bombs, flying out & cutting your engine on flying away usually under anti aircraft flier . Return to base & refuel, reload and doing it again sometimes as many as 4 to 6 times a night. Our bomber crews were released after 25 missions, the night witches flew as many as 2000 missions. True heroes!!

Sabaton. Watch. Like. Comment. No question. Let’s go.

Наши девчонки были невероятны. Они делали не возможное, на деревянных самолётах. Вечная им память, и спасибо за свободное небо.

Никто не забыт! Ничто не забыто!

One of the things I love about Sabaton is how they bring these stories out and give them their place in history they deserve. So many heroes are not recognized by their nations and here they not only get a voice but their stories are now known to the general public. I think it is one of the reasons they are so loved by the fans

@UmbraVolpes 5 years ago

There's one part they missed, where these women would climb onto the wings to restart the engine to get out of dodge

@Sergei_Agarkoff 5 years ago

Could not find this in the comments.
The Po-2 biplanes had a weak enough engines. Then these brave Night Swallows (they weren't witches in our predecessors' eyes) did not take the parachutes (in exchange for some more bombs), and the downing of a plane by the enemy's gunfire almost always led to the death of both ladies - lady-pilot and lady-navigator: they just had no chances for rescue.
Number of cases were documented when they burned alive within their falling plane. Terrible death. And the eternal glory for all of them.

Советский фильм "Небесный тихоход" как раз рассказывает о такой эскадрильи По-2. В интернете где то должна быть версия с английскими субтитрами, торрент в помощь
