There is no mention of Elon Musk's Tunnel project from downtown to the airport. I wonder why?

I live in Tennessee and this mega project will be a super tax strain on most retirees and lower income families. We did not have a vote on this issue but we will have to pay higher taxes on this just to pass it on to our grandchildren.

Nashville is deteriorating. They sold their souls to the drinking and partying crowd and it is starting to show……

I use to love Nashville. I hate it here now. Local voice’s didn’t matter or count. Roads were crowded 30 years ago, just imagine the drive into town during rush hour now. Lord I want to move. And don’t get me started on the “affordable housing “

That transit "solution" is a joke. They need wholesale reimagining of the interstate system. Anything less is lipstick on a pig.

The whole area was like 15 ft underwater. Oracle needs to have some lifeboats to be there. Or a helo pad on the roof for a passenger chopper. I worked in the downtown area long enough to see a couple of big floods there.

Something to point out about Nashville and bond issues. It's one of the very few places in the country--maybe the only one its size--where pretty much everything public and not part of state government is financed and run by the city. In other places you might have a transit agency, public housing authority, port authority, library, school district, or park system, each with its own powers of taxation. That's not the case in Nashville. That's why its debt per capita can appear outrageously high. Oh, that bit about Oracle being built on the site of an old scrapyard? The scrapyard was south of KVB; the land south of the Siegenthaler (previously Shelby Street) bridge was Nashville Bridge Company, which built barges, and the scrapyard continued south of there.

superb View of what Nashville is becoming I. 've lived in the Nashville area for 55 years so far and I am sure enjoying seeing how it's progressing even though I won't live long enough to enjoy it for very long. New folks coming to Nashville will have decades of wonderful experience with this city. I'm sure glad I moved to this area 55 years ago, even though I miss the Angus Cattle ranches that used to surround where I live and have now become beautiful apartments or condominiums

10:55 I live in this neighborhood. No sidewalks has actually been what’s kept my rent so low lol. I’m not complaining we need it

How much has the cities council members and Mayor's net worth increased????😮😮

@edawg9962 1 month ago

Nashville's traffic will be worse than Atlanta...it sucks now with only half the population and no room for expanding highways....good luck

@danielgant2214 1 month ago

Oracle better build their building up high, I’ve seen that whole area under 8’ of water, and the Cumberland floods from time to time.

I wonder how we can reasonably expect the Oracle campus to have 8500 employees when the trend is to move towards more AI and less reliance on people... especially when we consider Oracle's business model.

They wanted a Super Bowl. They got it. 🙄

@truthteller50 1 month ago

The east side of the river being built up will be something. But that’s right beside one of the three interstates that rolls through the city. Those interstates are already too small and there is NO way to fix that problem. Now it will be permanently locked in to its current size forever, but think how many more will need to use it to get in and out of that development.

@waynenoll1967 1 month ago

The ground that Oracle is building on is so toxic from years of industrial use that they’ll have to dig up around 30 feet deep and refill before they can even begin to build. I wouldn’t want to work there on a daily basis….

If people understood how to merge onto an expressway, the traffic would improve somewhat. Right now, they merge without matching the speed and sometimes "merge" going 5-15 mph slower than the traffic. This causes tons of problems. Also, people on the expressway often do not change over to the left lane to make merging easier for the people trying to merge.
