David Tipton would be proud.

Well, Baz would like this one. NO DIAL CORD!!!

Beautyful 50's Space Age design

Considering the poor condition of that handle Don, you worked miracles through persistence. Well worth the effort for a nice looking radio; I hope the owner will appreciate the end result. Thank you for sharing your time and interest.

You could always go down to a coastal store that only sells one size of battery, run by an elderly lady, She sells C-cells by the seashore! 😁

Love your work Don, good on ya.

Excellent job great repair on the handle whole radio came out looking good.

Nice one Don. Practice makes perfect! Glad you had a handle on things.

That's the Chevy Bel Air of radios 📻. I want to see ya restore this beauty. It's always those lossy capacitors, which tend 🙄 to drift up in value 🙄. Your friend, Jeff.

Excellent work. Nice radio worth the effort.

Great job! This time the work on the handle turned out to more complicated than the restoration of the electronics. Goes to show that you really need to be a jack or all trades in this hobby. Awesome!

Well done Don 😀👍👍👍

Back in the early 1980's I was the Chief of Police for a small oil boom town. I bought a house on Main street, one house down from the local undertaker. We became quite good friends and enjoyed nights out at the local bar on occasion. He would call me from time to time since he had no helper, should he have a real heavyweight body to handle.  He had a sort of pully lift to move them around but it worked better with the 2 of us, and being an old Vietnam Vet I was not all that uncomfortable around the dead. It was then that I found a common but perhaps never realized use for super glue.  He used it to hold the eyes closed on the deceased, and to keep their hands together grasping the rosery or bible, in some cases. It works wonders especially after an autopsy where the organs such as eyeballs are in a bag instead of the head.  He was a great guy, may he rest in peace.  Wonder who prepared him for the grave, I had moved on by the time he passed.

Super !

Great job Don. Your technique of melding in hot wire as support and scaffold worked very well. As did the Nead it product.  Thankyou

Nice Job Don !!

Nice job on the Radio :)

A bit of deja vu there Don. Nice work and top marks for the handle 👍🙂

You should get a bottle of MEK, also known as butanone.  It is better than acetone at softening plastic than acetone, and not so volatile.  Also removes dried superglue.

Great electrical and cosmetic work Don.
Well done
